That's the first flights booked for next year. Off to Whistler on the 23rd March for a couple of weeks. Never been there before, indeed, never skied outside Europe before. Should be good!

Super jealous (well, a bit, as at least Im still boarding this year) as did Whistler with friends last year and it was fantastic. Unreal how many pistes they can get onto two mountains, no queues, Fairmont was amazing and right on the slopes, and it wasnt 'that' expensive - I believe the off piste is epic too but didnt get into this.
Only caution is that the on mountain F&B stops are pathetic if you are used to Austria for example. Dont bother with them, hit up the Irish bar at the bottom of Whistler, or the Mallard in the Fairmont at the bottom of Blackcomb instead for any stops you need. Also good for a breakfast is the 'cafe' in the basement of Fairmont - get the breakfast burrito which will either make you uncomfortably swollen for about 9 hours, or share with a friend!!
Have a great time!

Have to disagree about the F&B stops being pathetic, granted most are just just like shopping mall food courts (although food courts that are far better than anything you would get in the UK) but then you have
Crystal Hut: amazing waffles and steak sandwiches
Chic Pea: epic cinnamon rolls and the stews,
Glacier Creek Lodge: Udon Noddle Bowls
GLC: excellent burgers, wings and huge Nachos.
Would agree the Irish bar (Dubh Linn) at the base of Whistler is good and the cafe in the Fairmont (Portobello) is also great for breakfast (and lunch) although I was never brave enough to take on the breakfast burrito.
To be honest the only disappointing place we ate over two weeks was the Old Spaghetti Factory
Going back in Feb can't wait only 157 sleeps to go...

dennisp, I agree about the mountain restaurants, and I hate waffles so didn't like Crystal Hut either.

Long time since I have been and I really enjoyed it on both occasions, the skiing was great fun, the village enjoyable. I don't know if I was just at busy times but the lift queues were certainly longer than I am used to and the food on the mountain was a bit dissapointing as noted above. There were some excellent places to eat in the town but needed plenty of advanced reservation.( not the same night)
