Poster: A snowHead

Had a great time last year on my preachers on the big snow days, but thinking I might want to go light for next season. Thinking about selling the preachers and getting some Scott Powd'airs and fitting dynafit bindings. Anyone done this, or something similar.

Good set-up that. If you like the Preachers when also consider the new carbonlite Whitedots. I've got great summer pre-season offers on at the moment on Whitedot, Dynafit, Scott & PM Gear freeride/touring packages.

spyderjon, Can you tell us more about the Whitedot Carbonlite offer? Is it only the Redemeers in Carbonlite or will there be others in the range as well?

I've gone all wobbly, which isn't like me, still fancy the Powd'airs but now fancying the WD carbon lite directors, anyone skied the directors. I've skied rockered zags before and found them weird on piste like having multiple radius skis but turned on a dime in the woods.
Also torn between dyna fits, f12s or Barons. In truth I won't be skinning in them but want to be able to use my touring boots with them as and when. Any views on the choice between f12s and Barons for a bonny lad who doesn't huck anymore, well not much.

F12s v Barons - I'd go with the ones you can get a deal on. I picked up some F12s on a deal and have been happy with them as a replacement for Dukes. I don't huck (intentionally) but I wouldn't call myself a finesse skier either

jbob, if you're not skinning, why go light?! Heavier and damper FTW for lift-served IME.
I think Marker are bringing out a new binding (the Lord?) next season, an alpine binding that accommodates AT soles. May be worth looking into if it works out cheaper than Barons.

jbob, get stuck in to the Downskis offer.
Carbon skis, yet fat and big-snow. A load of choice in their pre season offer at something around €349.
I don't know if you are BASI etc but if you are contact Down asap for a hefty discount on that.

jbob, pretty new company, so not so many users yet. Quite a few users/pics on the 'Snow for the Euros' thread if you use TGR/know of any of the euro mags, they're gaining popularity in my neck of the woods. Made in the same factory as Whitedot and a few other more well known brands. Email them if you have questions though, they're pretty open about how/why they do stuff.
