Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Hi,
I have been riding the Armada Pipecleaner 181 for the last 3 seasons and now I fancy exploring the rest of the mountain. I'm 6ft2 and around 180 pounds. I've been recommended the Kung Fujas, but choosing between 179 and 189 is proving difficult!
Any feedback is appreciated!
Cheers, Al

Al,

I'm abit heavier than you and have a pair of 184 Cham 97's as my everywhere ski, the 189's would probably be a better bet, though have you had a look in the Down pre sale thread worth a look if your not set on the Kung Fujas.

Thanks Nick, was looking for something around a 184 which helps. Anything about the 97's that you haven't enjoyed?

Only carrying them, they are heavy beasts, otherwise love them, made snapping the 87's i had before worthwhile, would have got a bigger pair of chams if there had been something between the 107 and 127 models.

I've just bought a pair of Atomic Alibis which seem to get great ratings, although I haven't tested them in the mountain environment yet. Worth checking out though!

I had a pair of Volkl Mantra out last season and they felt very stable, a bit like a range rover for the mountain. The armada TST are also a good option, but they have an early rise so depends if you like the feel of that! Something to consider anyway, before you take the plunge.
