Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Autumn/Winter 2013 ski coaching courses

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
I really fancy a week or two of ski coaching in Europe between early October and 31/12/2013. Any ideas/recommendations? I would be interested in bumps, racing(to date I have no experience in ski racing) or freestyle coaching. Thanks.

spud, do you have much of a background in racing? What kit did you need? Definitely interested in something like that.

How does the eurotest compare to the TT for someone without a racing background? I wouldnt mind if I never pass either because the training would be great for your personal skiing in any case.

Recommend Skivolution based at Kaprun Nov/Dec time on Kitzsteinhorn glacier - their instructors are very good and there are a range of courses offered.

I haven't a huge amount of experience in Racing... just weekly GS and Slalom races when working in resort.
Eurotest is GS and TT is slalom.

The best thing to do is email Emma at Snoworks and let her know your background and ability...that's what I did. She then recommends what course would suit you. Race Carve and Eurotest are both good.

You just need GS skis..., helmet and your normal ski gear. Some of us trained in GS suits which really helped with the padding. If you don't have one, get an under armour jersey with plenty of padding on the arms. We all got serious bruising from hitting the gates. Re skis... some rented in resort and were good quality and serviced well. There was a mixture of skis used... from 19 radius to 27m radius. I used a pair of Womens FIS in 178 and R 23 which were plenty stiff enough and perfect for learning new skills on.

The guys at snoworks are great and really helpful. You'll have fun and learn a lot.

Elston, Phil Brown (Impulse) is planning another Tignes 4 day weekend race/tuneup camp early December in Tignes. Was mighty fine last year and not too much of a time commitment...
