Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Not sure how steep those slopes are, but if good enough, what a great place to set up a Technical Race School for upcoming British kids. A few coaches and Teachers...build a few Dorms etc,etc...Bang gates all day...now if I had the ready money and knowhow wink

Was up there today, it was bloomin' cold but no snow Happy




There seems to be a hotel complex with restaurant at the col. It is over 1000m altitude so there must be quite a bit of snow in the winter. It is on a big plateau with a huge cross country ski area which must be the main attraction. The car parking on the road was stretched over 1500 meters, enough for several hundred cars. It must be buzzing some winter weekends.

This is the small piste, it is quite substantial, there is also a bobsled and a magic carpet lift for beginners, there is even a ski school !



I didn't photograph the main piste because it was too cold to hang around. I'd certainly ski there for a couple of hours with junior but Chalmazel it is not.
