La Plagne gains an 8-pack!, The Arpette chair lifit - a well-know bottle-neck out of Bellecote towards Les Coches and Les Arcs - is being upgraded for the new season from a 4-seater to an 8-seater...

The infamous Bouclet drag is also to be upgraded for winter 2006. This long steep drag through the trees from Plagne 1800 to Aime La Plagne (2100m) has long terrified many a skier, assuming they had survived the vicious lift-off.
The site also has some sad pictures of the damage caused by a fire earlier this year at the top station of the Bellcote Glacier gondola.

Thats great lets hope they fill it not let 2 or 3 on at a time -the Bouclet was great fun if you could make it up you could see some great sights on the long haul up Warren Miller could have made a whole film

I had a season living in 1800, it wont ever be the same without the morning rush of getting it up to PC on the rickety old fella. abooo. it was like a wee training run uphill!! vive la Bouclet!

I fell off that on my first ski holiday, nightmare of a walk through the trees back to a piste, and then you still have to try again. Made sure I never fell off again though !

Thanks RG: the Arpette chair looks complete and working. The text says the TCB Bellecote lift is "practically finished and the télécabine will open well for Christmas". It doesn't quite look that way to me, and now they are working in the snow. But I wish them luck, and certainly hope it is working by the end of January.

Lovely shot RG thank you. Cover looks great.
I think that St Jacques red run that crosses under the chair is odd. Quite long parts of it go uphill as the photo shows and unless you 'bomb' it you can be in for a climb. It's 'marketed' now as a fun run with a few bumps and kickers on the steeper top section.

Nice! Do they have dual 4+4 queues to load it? or is it a free for all, and let 4 chairs go up with 2's and 3's while everyone holds up the queue waiting for the rest of their group so they can all catch the same chair?
