cracked the hi-yellow lenses on my A-frames 
The replacement hi-yellow lens cost almost as much as the goggles - i'm just wondering if anyone has an opinion on whether clear lenses are as good as/better than hi-yellow in flat light/fog ??

bambi, Have a look here and play around with the different lens types in different conditions compared to the naked eye. It will give you an idea whether clear is as good or not. I personnally wouldnt having seen what its like without an enhancing lens.

bambi, I haven't got hi-yellow lenses but do have clear ones. I just use the clear lenses for night skiing, they don't help in flat light.

bambi, you can't beat the hi-yellow for low/flat light. If you send your cracked lens back to Oakley they'll replace them for a relatively small charge.

Try Hi persimmon instead of Hi yellow they can be used in lighter conditions too.
In bad light the yellow ones give a brighter (and yellow) view, but don't give you any more useful detail or contrast than the persimmons.
Should be able to get either for about £50

bambi, when I wanted new A Frames with Hi Vis yellow and black iridium lens it was cheaper to buy 2 pairs of goggles; I gave the spare frame to a friend.

IIRC they charged me about £20 but that was a few years ago. It's definately worth contacting 'em as I've know people get foc replacements for breakages even when well out of warranty.

Happy to replace them myself, but cheapest lens replacement i can find for a-frame hi-yellow is nearly £60.. if you shop around you can sometimes find new goggles for less than that. The clear lenses are about £30. I was thinking about light transmission - about 80% on the yellows, wouldn't it be near 100% on the clears?
