Hi
Does anyone have any ideas on how to repair the foam cushioning that rests against your face on a pair of goggles. I have a lovely pair of bolle goggles that I have had for around 3 years. Unfortunately the foam cushioning that makes contact with my face has come away from the rest of the goggles. The foam was dual layered, but the warm weather last week, (twinned with my lack of fitness) resulted in a touch of forehead perspiration. The result is the foam has come away from the plastic frame. I could attempt glueing it back together, but would rather replace the foam. Is it just a case of buying some foam from a haberdashery store and cutting it to fit, or can you buy replaced ski goggle foam?
I am guessing that I will end up buying new goggles, but I would prefer to repair if poss

Just put double sided sticky tape on the frames and stick the foam back on.

Rather doubt that double-sided tape will be that durable. Personally I would probably use Evostik contact adhesive.

The foam that has come off seems longer than the space it has come from. I am guessing that the foam is cut longer than the circumference of the goggles and then squeezed into the space to create a tighter / neater finish. I have tried refitting it, but unless I use some kind of instant glue, it will just spring back out.
I think I need to strip out all the old foam and glue and fit some new self adhesive foam.

smagsmith, Evostik contact adhesive is defnitely what you want then. Apply to both sides, wait, and then when you touch them together they will stick like poo to a blanket.
If you do decide to use new foam (which I would not bother with unless you really need to) then I still think Evostik will be the most durable.

I have ordered some foam strip on a roll with a sticky backing. I will let you know how my blue Peter botch it attempt goes.
