Help!!
Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better!
Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

I am 5' 9" so am unable to join this 5'6" club, which is a real shame. I'm only 11 stone too, so i cannot even get in on the weight issue either.
To get to the point... i ski a 160 but am currently looking at buying myself a lovely new pair of Bandit B2's at no more than 168's.
I was brought up on the old long style skis many years ago and recently tried to ski a 175 (my old length), and couldn't turn left at all. But i hadn't skied for a while so was a bit rusty too.
165 should be about right for you 5'6"ers

I'm 6ft, 13.5st and haven't done any off-piste skiing as yet, but can ski pretty much any black on the hill. Carving is also pretty good.
What length of ski would you say I should be looking at buying? (my first ski's - have been renting until now)
Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Depends really as some skis are designed to be skied shorter lengths, for example the Atomic Metron skis for your weight would be 164 or shorter. Atomic don't take height into account when you use there selector. Its down to weight, ability and type of turn length you prefer.

I'm looking at getting the B2's (2006 version). What length do you reckon?
