I'm shocked at the level of rudeness on this thread. Only provenjohn knows if he is capable of carrying his luggage 400m up a hill. I know that I couldn't carry mine and my daughter's (and she is not capable of carrying her own). Leaving my skis lying about until I can return for them doesn't particularly appeal. Esprit in Les Arcs 2000 leave customers to walk and luggage follows in a pick up truck. In Maryhofen last week, those who were staying up a road inaccesible by coach were ferried by minibus. I don't see why a TO can't provide this, and if they are not going to, some warning is not an unreasonable ask.

Guvnor, a joke is no funnier when told three times in quick succession. Especially when it wasn't funny in the first place.

Grannynetter, it isn't a f*ckin joke.....the language in this thread is indicative of how the forum is being dragged down into the gutter, in this example by middle aged ladies who should certainly know better, just ignore it and go a pi$$ on someone elses chips

provenjohn, you asked a fair question. Its typical of snowheads forum that you got such a variety of replies. You have to remember that there is no filtering of members. Indeed some of the posters on this thread may be criminally insane or even daily mail readers. But I do agree that in general the replies are becoming more vitriolic.......sad really, it could eventually spoil a good forum Crying or Very sad

Provenjohn - the TO should have dropped you at the door of your accommodation unless it was impossible for the coach to reach the door (due to on accommodation on piste or car free resort). The TO should have transported you to the nearest road to your accommodation and had people there to help you up with the bags. This is what I would expect from a TO holiday including transport to the resort. They should also have collected you from the door at the end.

Your experience sounds like a DIY holiday not a TO one.

Last year we went to Montgenevre and arranged our own transport by train. We took the Resalp coach from the station to centre of Montgenevre and realised our appartments were a long walk, it was snowing snowHead

, children too young to carry cases and the pavements were covered in slush. We couldn't find a taxi so eventually waved down the town ski minibus and piled into it with our cases, boot bags etc. Having had a smooth journey from London to Montgenevre the last 1/2 mile was the most exhausting!

If the OP can't make up his own mind about such a simple matter as whether to complain or not, he is hardly likely to be much helped by the mass of conflicting advice he will receive from 'us'

red 27, he did make his own mind, he has written them a letter IIRC. It's not the conflicting advice that is the problem, its the damn right nasty responses. Nothing wrong with the OP asking for our advice or thoughts, maybe he wanted an objective view to a matter that was subjective to him. Shame we couldnt respond with a bit of grace Sad

As you say, the whole thing is unspeakably sordid and I hope all involved feel thoroughly ashamed of themselves and each other.

Now that you've sucked me in (as it were) was this another 'cold plates' issue? I can tell you that if anyone lacks the common courtesy to warm my dish they will feel the back of my hand on the spot - no need to canvass opinion on here, subjective or otherwise.

My view for some of the rudeness is that because we are at the end of the season some people are getting a little grumpy and maybe less tolerant of other peoples little foibles. It could be a condition - maybe we could call it post ski season rage. Toofy Grin
