shockingmoment, as the pistes aren't open yet , it is hard to say, but there is still a heap of snow waiting to be skied. Monetier is open next Sat and SUn, then the main domain will be open from 15th December.

i was on the first lift and got first tracks back down to the bottom, then freshies all morning all over the place.
Went back up at 12 to find it all tracked out but not a problem as i'd decided to help a newby! "And i got him linking turns which isn't bad seeing as he'd never snowboarded before.
just waiting for the pics to load up.

just wondering....
why they havent opened parts of villnevue/chantermerle/briancon area. Is it due to lack of demand at the moment or lack of snow(now i couldnt believe that).
and
what is the snow like in the other areas?

monetier is renound for the best snow out of the 4 stations, but its not just that. I think it has a lot to do with peoples contracts and keeping to minimum staff before the full opening, although i could be totally wrong!
there certainly isn't a lack of snow.
I wanted to hike to the cucamel top lift and ride down through chantemerle but no one else wanted to do it.
either way lets not knock the fact that they did open early! may it happen everyyear!
