norris, your pics are great but most of them seem to be > 500KB in size and this thread is getting ridiculously slow to download. Could I make a plea for you to convert them to linked thumbnails for example?

Yoda, Didn't we all get told off some time ago in a sticky for posting too many full piccies? - I think the instructions for posting a thumbnail were probably on that thread (though I admit to posting a guilty full sized piccy of my own on this thread
What I often do is to reduce standard digital camera images to 30% of their size, this makes them far more portable and able to send and post and you generally still get a reasonable sized image out of them of reasonable quality.

David Murdoch, is that Morzine pic down Linga? (I think that's the run name anyway )

The title of the thread, I think, warrants some great pics (not thumbnails) being posted.
That said, It's not beyond the wit of (wo)man to resize to 640x480, or 800x600, and to bring the pic size down to less than a few kBs.
Yes, I know I'm not being very PC towards those on dial-up (who *is* on dial up anyway) - but seriously! Whinging about photos in a photo thread!

I agree veeeight: I really like the photos but although I'm on a fast
connection and a 19" screen some of the bigger pics are still proving a bit
problematic.
Yes, this topic is about photos and no, thumb-nails would not really cut it would
they.
But still folks, let's be sensible about this:
Ideally, stick to 640x480 if you can; These will look fine to just about everyone.
If you must, go up to 800x600 but nothing over that please as they just won't
look good to most people who will have to scroll about in order to see the
whole image.
Now, Post some Stoke dewwwwwwd
