123_456, I really do love looking at your photos each season. I skied through Les menuires last week on a big blue/red run circuit of much of the three valleys while staying in La Tania one day.

Temperatures dropping and snow forecast for Tuesday the 14th. Hopefully that trend continues for my arrival on the 18th!
123_456, have you skied down to SMdB at all? How are Jerusalem, Pramint, Biolley etc looking?
Can't wait to get out there and breathe some fresh mountain air instead of the endless Smog in China!

Am going to Les Menuires for a week this winter, what is the difference between the middle ski pass and the 3 valleys lift pass. I presume Meribel is included in the middle one? Am I right? |
No the 'middle one' is probably the vallee des belleville? Val Thorens, Les Menuires and and St Martin de Belleville. For Meribel you need the full 3v pass. |
Thanks for the reply! have managed to convince most the group to get the full 3v pass now. |
We tend to go for a pass for the single valley and get extensions for the days where weather and inclination suggests we want to explore further. It can be galling if you pay for a weeks 3v and for several of those days high wind cuts off the links. You can extend on the day. |
But isn't there only a 15 euro difference between the St Martin de Belleville lift pass and the 3 valley lift pass for the whole week? upgrading on the days you want to ski the whole 3v is much more than 15 euros is it not?

After a short dip in the weather, last night some very light rain, this afternoon again a blue sky. Temperature too high and enough soft snow on the pistes.

A very grey day with high clouds all over the three valleys. Flat light makes it not attractive for skiing. Temperature lower due to the absence of the sun.
On parts of several pistes a lots of small stones.

Snowfall during the night and early morning. A fresh layer of snow between 10 - 15 cm. Very cloudy during the day, big snow moguls and bad visibility. Temperature at 3000 meter -6 degrees and no wind.

I think it's as you come back to the base of La Masse as the two sets of runs join up again.

Flickr will show you the location a photo was taken from if GPS data is available, and it looks like it is for that picture. Click on the link 'Le Reberty, ...' below 'Taken on January 17..' and it should open a map.
