.. but mostly, to have bagged a lift served day on May Day holiday (and at just £41.50 for the three of us including gear hire for the boys) was fantastic. Well done Cairngorm !

The Top Basin will be assessed mid-week, however despite clear skies with a breeze having got up the temperature isn't falling back at all, and dew points are also high due to quite humid air, this means the snow is thawing rather than firming up tonight, so the thaw is going to be steady around the clock. If this is the patten for the week ahead then then I think Monday could well have been the last day of the season.
Having said that, it's Scotland you never know, or maybe Glencoe might have a change of heart!
If it has been the last day of the season then what a fantastic day to end it on. First day of the year I've been outside all day in a T-shirt, and it so happened to be on the top of CairnGorm !!
Can't help but think that Glencoe and Nevis missed a trick for yesterday given the numbers at Cairgorm yesterday and all the associated stuff going on up there.

Fantastic day yesterday and a great long weekend at Cairngorm - really impressed by everything and the staff were brilliant (with one exception!), more anon!

Hope you had a good weekend, good to ski with you on Saturday. We definitely took the wrong route down the West Wall on Saturday. Did the West Wall again on Monday with Les and headed out under/beyond the chair - and it was some of the best snow on the hill, but the route to it will have broken now as even yesterday most of the snow we skiied on to get down the West Wall had gone.
Great weekend though and well done to CML as they put in a real effort to make a great end of season bash. I hope the staff enjoyed their party on Monday night aswell - they deserved it

Thanks Dave likewise and hope our slowness on foot didn't hold you up too much

Yeah, looking at it from below it looked like we'd done the wrong route - shame but there's always next year!

Absolutely, I bet it was a great doo, they well deserved it because they were brilliant over the weekend!
BTW, sorry we didn't say a proper goodbye on Monday, had to rush off early for the long drive back down here.
And love to help out and answer questions and of course, read each other's snow reports.

Whilst many of you were dancing around May poles on Monday with your funny wee garters and bells on your heels, here's what we were doing at Cairngorm ...
