Thanks Dodge and Snowangel, I'll see what I can get hold of when we get there and if not Monday morning won't be a problem. I'm just glad to be going and the snow looks fab.

snowangel., You're the lady in the know! Firstly, for the third time in 5 years, we're coming back to Serre Che. Hope to bump into some of you guys this time.
What is the situation regarding the Grand Serre Che lift pass please? We can have one day in each of which other areas free of charge? Montgenevre counts as one, Puy is another, Les Deux Alpes is another (bit of a trip though!) and Alpe D'Huez another? (unlikely we'd do both of those though). Any others or are there any other places close by (Risoul/Vars/Les Orres) that we can upgrade the pass to? Or is it a complete separate day pass if we go to those areas?
Cheers
Carl
PS - keep that snow coming !

Lift pass query.....
The Serre Che website states that a photo is needed for 3+ day lift passes. Do we need to take a passport size photo or does the pass have a digital photo on it?
Thanks for any help on this one.

Thanks helen, we'll certainly try our best to. It nearly didn't happen as our son had suspected glandular fever and the timings of the blood tests required for medical and insurance purposes was very tight.
I hope things are going better for you and yours now.

well what a frustrating day. To first of all wade accross knee high snow at la place de serre d'aigle, To then sit there watching dump severly and all those lucky people going up to have fun.
Saw lots of people who went up, the most common complaint, said with massive grins, was that there was infact too much powder! OH the joy!
Lift pass queries.
if you by the glaxie you do get a day in an other resort. monty, puy st vincent (being the closest) l2a and alpe d'huez
I personally rate the first two the best, closely followed by Adh (travelling puts it in this position) and lastly l2a.
we basically take the pictures with a little web cam. So as long as you have all your party or a photo of all your party we can scan it. holiday snaps dont always work, normally either to large or small.
If your in chantemerle it looks like i'll be working a bit as i'm replacing one of the full time staff who has broken her wrist. Plus possible work in the plein sud this week. And all when the snow is awesome!
I did get some shots from yesterday and today will post after dinner

snowangel., uh huh. I am thinking of coming to SC in March - so am beginning to take a interest in what goes on there. As ADH is close to SC, there is a little relevance, I suppose - but like you, I wonder why Weathercam did not post in the ADH thread. No biggy. Just odd - and the pics would have added to the ADH info for folk interested in that.
[edit] I see he has posted the same pics in the ADH thread

Oh apologies, slap wrist etc - just thought some of you would like to see some nice pics ......................

Finally arrived in resort a frustrating 5 hours after leaving Chambery airport! Bluddy car hire agent at the airport told us that the Col du Lauteret was open... it wasn't!
Many thanks to snowangel., for the advice on an alternative route. Of course, by the time we arrived in SC the Col had reopened - not funny!
Lets hope all the lovely white stuff tomorrow makes up for the nightmare journey.

nikimac, ah yes the chalet that claims that the plein sud bar and restaurant belong to them! they use pics of it on many sites, so dont be surprised if its different. other than that i know nothing about them
Snow update. The big dump today hasn't happend as yet. it was snowing up there today and the snow is just unbelievable. So so deep off piste. Did various tree runs today the best being briancon to aguillette trees. OMG Just amazing bit of unexpected hiking needed but worth every puff (and i was huffing and puffing big style I'm getting old!)
Unfortunately i forgot my camera but my mate took some shots that i'll pinch and put up later.
Marmalade must be so stoked to have got here for this.

snowangel.,
Yes, seen the pics - very strange they show pictures of a restauraunt! Anyway, nevermind - I came across a video of the chalet taken by a past guess on youtube so I know what to expect when I get there, thankfully!
20 days away, going so slow - hoping the conditions stay as they are.

nikimac, I'm pretty sure I have stayed in that chalet, but it was 12 years ago! Don't remember being able to ski back to the chalet, but seem to think you could get to the gondola on skis by poling? If you find the thread about equipment rental in Serre Chevalier on here there is a poster who was due to be staying in Chalet Montalembert this week, so might be worth PM'ing him when he gets back?

Got back Saturday night from Lievre Blanc. What a fantastic week. My only complaint was that there was too much snow on the last day! I was actually a little bit scared at the top of cucamerlle, seriously!!! Briancon's slopes were personal favorites (didn't even get to do Monetier ). Great hol full of firsts like landing my first rail in Melee Zone and seeing my dad get up and play guitar on Friday in La Grotte.....Legendary. Excellent place though and want to be back there now.

solstice21, glad you had a good time.
I have to admit that i'm quite glad it didn't dump again today cos there is too much snow out there. I didn't ride my swallow tail today, i should have, but it was so so so so much fun
see you again next year
