@Markymark29, *IF* the forecast fohn and warmer weather arrives (possibly with some R**n 18th/19th Dec) as the GFS runs are showing, with a temp drop over Xmas it could well be icy .... *but* along ways off and could all change.

@DB, how long are you in the area for and fancy a ski if you are still there from Wed 18th? I'm travelling lightish so will be on piste skis without any OP gear.

@kitenski, Can't see it being an issue but late snow arrival and potential temp rises like this year gets me jittery......plenty pow to come between now and 27th i'm sure. I've given up carting my 108CL's around, they never get used anyway, this year not taking them.

@Markymark29, maybe not so much of the cold. Calling the weather in a weeks time always has a chance of being wrong but the graphs and forecasts seem to be pointing to stable relatively mild southerly föhn type weather. Not full on spring sunshine but not "winter" cold either. Possibly good for outdoor Christmas lunch. Hopefully things will change.

It will be very windy (storm force) Saturday ...Switzerland will get the full force..
Snow Saturday will be wet (sleet) lower maybe rain in town as temperature rises ..

@stanton,
I was hoping you could come up with some ski touring info.
Try to avoid skinning up the side of the piste however just in case the snow isn't good enough to ski offpiste by then - skiining routes away from the piste that meet up with mountain huts later on would be also be useful.
PS Is anywhere open to eat on the 24th Dec?

@stanton, Not sure St Anton itself is going to be as warm as some places. Feldkirch is currently 17 degrees, Bludenz is 16 degrees, St Anton around 4 degrees. The Föhn can rattle down the Moostal and Verwalltal but the Stanzertal itself is a bit more protected. At the moment Rendl is a couple of degrees warmer than elsewhere
