Sounds like its OK - and like you I didn't pay much and don't usually stay anywhere plush. If I see the AM I'll send him you love 
I'm actually there from the 4th for the week so will be looking obsessively at the snow reports - good the hear there's some today. Hope those going the week after me have a great time,

Dodge, No worries....
I dunno whether you are skiing or 'boarding, but if it's the latter, and you want to head over the 'other side' towards the Scott snowpark, I'd walk down to La Grotte and jump on the lift there. It takes forever to get over if you get on the lift outside the hotel, and you need to get on the draglift from hell that takes off at about 40mph. It litterally lifts you off the floor!
Either way, there's good riding to be had either side, and it's nice to be able to ride straight to the door (or pub)!
The AM might be alright with most, he just seemed to be abit rude, especially for a customer facing manager.

snowing heavy up top (i'm told) snowing fairly heavily down here.

rayscoops, i'm six foot, i meant technical depth but the snow is so deep off piste between the trees that i had no chance of scrambling back to get my ski just three metres behind me. So again totally out of my depth. Think i've stumbled on a nutter instructor! Still snowing and yes lots of snow up top but very windy this morning. Tomorrow should be awesome here i'd say! Pistes are excellent here. Luc alphand black was great just before i killed my skis.

Fantastic conditions off piste today. Most of yesterdays tracks covered, so about 1 ft fresh. 1st lift up, skied virgin powder all morning but started getting a bit busy after 11.30, so called it a day. Pistes looked in good nick too. HNY to all.

To relieve the boredom.... Beer at €5.50 - €6.00 a pint yet a 24 deck weighs around 10.5KG at £6 per kg excess airline weight tarriff that's approx £63 whereas 24 pints would be €132 - €144, a potential saving to be had there for any drinkers out there..... Just make sure you pack it well LOL

went up with the kids this afternoon. absolutely no one there superb! kids ski far to fast! pistes in fab conditions, a few stones but generally it was amazing.

Snowing big flakes in uk (east anglia) this morning but unfortunately turned a bit slushy by time I got to work. Been a couple of good crashes outside my lab though...1 involving a Porche Cayenne vs a Corsa. Guesses on the outcome anyone?!?

Back at work today after the trudge home yesterday. Serre Che is truly awesome and big thaks to Helen B for recommending it to us - it is greatly appreciated!
Generally pretty perfect conditions for the last half of last week. Casse de boeuf was getting crazy icy by saturday afternoon though!
Cant wait to get back asap!

Thanks marmalade, we are there 31st jan to 7th feb staying at les marmottes chalet.
BTW all you SC experts - I started a seperate thread looking for advice on hire of boards and skis (especially boards) in Chantermerle - anyone have any recomendations for places doing good quality kit? also advice on guiding for boarders, off piste etc - all help gratefully recieved!

lib-banana, got to ski sport which is in the serre d'aigle building next to to the tourist office. Quote my chalet (name in sig) and they'll give you 25% discount. For anything snowboard related speak to generation snow, for skiing to for that matter. they are next to the ski shop.
