Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Thanks for all the help and tips, really useful. Can I clarify though the form says:

"I hereby agree on my honour to take an antigen test or biological examination on arrival in metropolitan France (traveller aged above 12 years)."

So I have to take another test on arriving? Can this one be a self administered NHS freebie?

Apols but I am thick and just want to bee 100% from those who've already experienced this debacle . . flying out to Austria (via Frankfurt) next week

1 - NHS Covid App & QR codes for triple jabbed - DONE
2 - Same day PCR test booked for morning of day prior (Austria 48hrs max) - DONE
3 - 2 Day return kit to be collected at PCR appointment - DONE

Am I missing anything? Do I need to complete any other forms for entry / re-entry to
a) Germany (Transit/airside only)
b) Austria

That particular line is different between the French text and the English text versions of the form.
French text (effectively) says "I hereby agree to take a test on entry if asked". English text says "I hereby agree to take a test on entry", missing the crucial "if asked" bit.

This has not changed tho, and was the same before Xmas. I have not heard of any tests being enforced on entry. We certainly didn't see any when we travelled on the 17th.
If you're feeling paranoid, sign the French version (I was. And we did. Laughing )

You do not need a PCR on return - the LFT one is all that is needed now :: UK PLF should be filled out :: NOTE -- UK regulations to be reviewed on the 26th ;
Suspect you will need a PLF for Austria - not sure, check other threads :: here's one -- https://snowheads.com/ski-forum/viewtopic.php?t=153006&start=7160

Would someone please clarify:
1) Is test requirement for entry into Geneva from the US based on departure time or arrival time into GVA?
2) I am getting a transfer from GVA to Megeve. Do transfer companies require the health pass?
3) Does GVA recognize verified (video) self-tests as sufficient for the antigen test?

My understanding for 1) is this

Swiss - valid on boarding and entry
France - valid on boarding
Italy - valid on arriving

2) not sure
3) It accepts paid for ones. i.e. ones that come with a certificate as proof

====== Edit ======

I have just checked : https://travelcheck.admin.ch/home : and it seems that travellers entering Switzerland from the USA do not need any departure test !!

Follow my link and enter your details to confirm

France may however need a test to enter....

The other option is to make tests harder to get or charge for them....

Thank you for your reply. Is your answer for no test for Switzerland (Travelcheck) based on selecting “Transit without stopover”?

Will I need to fill out the French Sworn Statement? Is Megeve and Chamonix considered Metropolitan France?

Hi everyone, I’m new here, and just registered to see if I could find some info about going skiing in Switzerland.

I’ve not read all 13 pages of this thread so apologies if it’s already been addressed but the first page mentions the entry requirements to Switzerland.

This website has an interactive checking tool for requirements to enter CH and although it says it will be updated on 22 Jan, at present, it seems you can enter, by road at least, if you’ve had covid in the previous 12 months, and with a LFT <48 hrs old.

https://www.bag.admin.ch/bag/en/home/krankheiten/ausbrueche-epidemien-pandemien/aktuelle-ausbrueche-epidemien/novel-cov/empfehlungen-fuer-reisende/quarantaene-einreisende.html

What I’m after is real world experience of being there. Could anyone please clarify whether a certificate of having had a positive PCR test in last 12 months will suffice for buying lift pass, using lifts and entry to accommodation and restaurants?

Many thanks!

@Swiss Frank, @Jsnow11, The Regulations are changing on the 22th of Jan for Switzerland

Press release - https://www.bag.admin.ch/bag/en/home/das-bag/aktuell/medienmitteilungen.msg-id-86839.html

"Amended rules on testing to enter Switzerland
From Saturday, 22 January, persons who have been vaccinated or who have recovered from COVID-19 will no longer be required to present a negative PCR or rapid antigen test before entering Switzerland. Persons who are not vaccinated or who have not recovered from COVID-19 will
still have to take the tests to enter the country. However, due to limited testing capacity, travellers will no longer be required to take follow-up tests four to seven days after arriving, meaning that the '3G' rule applies to enter Switzerland. The Passenger Locator Form (PLF) will only have to be completed by those travelling to Switzerland by plane or on a long-distance bus service."

Hi guys,

I am travelling from Ireland to Italy (Turin) and plan on driving from Turin airport to France (val thorens). Would appreciate advice from anyone who have completed a similar journey recently on what rules we need to follow?

1. Do we only need to satisfy the conditions for the country that is our final destination?

OR

2. Do we need to satisfy conditions for Italy & France and then on the way home, satisfy the conditions for Italy & Ireland?

If it is number 2, then we need to have 24hr antigen test for both Italy & France AND passenger locator form for both countries? (as well as covid cert and perhaps the sworn statement for france). And for the return journey, We need 24hr antigen test to cover Italy (none required for ireland) AND passenger locator form for Italy & Ireland plus covid certs?

Appreciate this looks like a needlessly complicated journey!

Is tehre going to be border checks between Italy & france?

I guess I am a bit confused then. If no requirements if no stopover in Switzerland, and no checks going into France, then there wouldn’t be any check at all basically? That is surprising. Am I correct in that despite there being a French side in GVA, that everyone entering would be subject to Switzerland rules of entry?

And not to confuse more, but we were planning to take a day trip to Courmayeur while staying in Chamonix? Would I be checked for a test going thru the tunnel?

".Am I correct in that despite there being a French side in GVA, that everyone entering would be subject to Switzerland rules of entry?"

Yes, the French side is only for 'Domestic' arrivals

I think if I was you - I would do Passenger location forms for both counties just in case and do a Lateral Flow test, again 'Just in Case' (would hate to be turned back!)

Most people here in the UK are doing self-administered (paid for) LFT's : you do the test at home ; upload photo to app or website ; they send you the results

"And not to confuse more, but we were planning to take a day trip to Courmayeur while staying in Chamonix? Would I be checked for a test going thru the tunnel?"

Shouldn't be - In theory there are no borders in the EU ; bit like crossing a State border in the US
