Any idea when that was shot? I guess with a pair of S7's anyone can ski powder...or sort of fm the looks of it.
3 weeks and counting to Lech. Sadly the conditions here in the PNW are not much different than Austria. December came in with a bang but our La Nina teases us with warm wet weather in January!

Pistes still in good condition here in St Anton. More hard packed and icy sections appearing, especially on some of the steeper sections but still great on piste skiing to be had all over the resort. No rocks showing through anywhere on piste. My husband had a great day off piste yesterday over in Stuben with Piste to Powder. Well worth the hiking, apparently.
Off to Lech tomorrow so will report back on how things are holding up over there.

As a quick after thought, it's my first time here in Austria and I've never seen so many après casualties in a resort. Lots of middle aged men getting themselves in real states.

stanton, DB, as I have discovered there actually is another 3 valley lift pass outside France and without the Russian contigent. It is connected to Lech when the road is clear. Just thought our erstwhile stanton, might have the heads up.
Looks like we will be going to St Anton now afterall if we can get fixed up for 4 nights.

Just back from a weekend in St Anton & Lech:
* piste quality is fairly good, taking into account the weather. Pretty hard & firm at most places, but it's pretty constant (i would hae expected it to vary more extremely during the day)
* off piste is almost non-existing in the common places in St Anton, Lech & Zurs. Most free ride zones look like moguls pistes

The locals are now just waiting for the next Full Moon
That is when it will snow 
This weekend the temp should drop.

It will be located where the current Ben Venito Restauant is.
The owners of Ben Venito (Hospiz Hotels) will move to a new 180 seat +
Location situated in the new hotel which is to be built on ther funky chicken

Obviously don't like how these joints have turned out.
That's why they want to build a
4 star hotel & up market restaurant.

dazman, you'll be skiing high up most of the time and I'm sure the snow will be fine. Blue 1 (Happy Valley) will get pretty messy in afternoon I'm sure but you can avoid the crowds by taking Red 21 from Gampen. Takes you out at back of KK/Taps and few seconds later you're at the Moos/Griabli. (Wee hint - park your skis at the back of the Griabli - avoids the mayhem of trying to find them in the dark outside Moos a wee bit worse for wear)

83 out or 84 lifts are open, the upper runs have 1.8m depth. If you were hoping for powder you're out of luck otherwise I don't see what's bad about heading to St Anton. I think you have chosen one of the best resorts for snow conditions right now.
