I'm still bloomin' confused about the transfers. on the site it says...
* We will run two dedicated mini buses per day between Geneva airport and Chalet Hotel Les Melezes, Tignes Les Boisses.
* Each bus can carry up to 8 passengers
* Journey time is usually 2 ½ - 3 hours.
* Transfers usually run at set times:
Incoming – leaving Geneva late afternoon or evening
Return – leaving resort late afternoon to serve flights after 21:00.
* It may be possible to be a little flexible on the transfer timings depending on demand. For example, we may be able to have one bus leave at 14:00 to serve flights after 19:00 and the other at the usual time.
I'm looking at flights coming into GVA at 16.30 and leaving GVA at 17.00 - will these fit around the transfers?

Don't know when in December you guys are thinking of but several of us are leaving there on the 14th. Mostly we've gone for late flights back to get extra skiing in and catch the bus about 4pm I think.

Colin B, I'm actually eying up dates at the end of October but the week commencing 8th December is also another alternative.

Specialman, return flight at 17:00 will be too early. The transfer leaves tignes at around 16:00 so as the blurb says, flights after 21:00 recommended. Incoming at 16:30 will be fine but of course all depends on if there is space on the minibus. As the 14th Dec is the last day for the offer Joanne is putting on a 52 seater coach so everyone can get back to GVA.

That's a bit of a bummer because all the flights with easyjet back to East Mids – a short drive from Rugby – are around teatime (17:00pm) from GVA and there are no flights from Birmingham to GVA on a Tuesday and no returns on a Saturday. BHX was my main choice simply because I can hope on a train and be there in 20 mins, saving on parking.
Looks likje Luton might be the best bet....

Specialman, Yeah, that's why I've opted for Swiss out of London City, the late evenign flight to Luton isn't operating on sundays this year.

Specialman, not that I'm trying to entice you away from the December group at all, but I'm going in October (see other thread) 21st-24th and got a cushty flight to Geneva from Luton. I also live in the Midlands not that far from you really and I also struggled to get flights from BHX or EMA. Luton is nearer than Gatwick for me and only a smidgen further than Heathrow. I think Luton should be what, 60-70 miles for you?

We are now only 4 (not 8 ) so probably more rooms available on our dates 6-9th Dec. You might want to avoid them if you don't like obnoxious teenagers!
I've totally lost track, who else will be there around those dates?

I think (but may be mistaken may have been on October thread) for those there roughly 10 - 14 December that there was some talk of organising some tuition, perhaps through Stewart Woodward. What sort of thing was being planned and how far did it get?

We booked the latest flight out of GVA at 20.35, which is BA out of LHR, £130 inc 23kg, free ski carriage, drinks & snacks. No late Easyjet until 11 Dec and that's only 20.30 ish.

It doesn't look like I can make it work, Joanne tells me that the later transfer on the 10th is full, and I can't get a flight
to get me in any earlier. Easyjet from Liverpool gets in too late, Easyjet from Birmingham doesn't seem to run on that day,
Jet2 doesn't start that route til the 13th

Think I might just settle for an early-December trip to ADH instead for a week. Snow might be iffy then (hope not) but it's better financial sense for me.

I am new to this and at work so didn't have time to read through all the posts, can someone let me know is there a particular standard that this trip is aimed at? I am probably what you would call a begginner + / v. low intermediate. Also are there any spots left?????? It's my 30th coming up so may be able to talk the Misses RedEd to let me go.
Also if this doesn't work out any suggestions for a weekend break in January?
Any comments much appreciated.

reded78, Unfortunately we have now sold out for the last weekend - although there is still availability during October and November for the ski and board camp. No minimum standard required, although if you went early on there would only be the glacier open which isn't perfect for absolute beginners by any means.
We are doing a four night £99 offer first week in December in our chalet in Dolomites, Italy.
And regarding weekend breaks in January - we are staring a new short breaks arrive any day operation for this season in our Les Coches chalet and you can see preliminary details for this at http://www.mountainsunltd.com/guests/shortbreaks.htm
