Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

As miranda, says, I'd always be happy in the Alps even if I couldn't ski, as long as I had books, lovely views, nice company in the evening etc. My husband has had a couple of 'ski' holidays when he couldn't ski due to a recurring injury, but the rest of us were out most of the day. He's been perfectly happy with his iPod, books that he never has time to read at home, a walk around the shops or sitting in a cafe with a coffee and book, a comfy base (we always take a sole-occupancy property), and then has met us for an hour in the pub apres ski. He does now manage to ski for at least part of most holidays, but the ones when he couldn't were equally enjoyable, so much so that he actually factors in a 'day off'.

concretejungle, only you and your GF know if these - and the other activities suggested - will appeal, but I think the thread shows that there is usually more to ski resorts than skiing Very Happy
