Also found this for transfer direct from airport ( not sure how far it is to go to get the public bus ??), not used before .. http://www.grenoble-altitude.com/index.php?lg=en
Anyone know of any reasonably priced bus/transfer to Alpe Duez from Chambery ? I have a lot more options if I fly to there ..... not been to Grenoble before and a long time since flown into Chambery - is it still a heaving cattle shed ?

camm10, - i've not done this before either but as i understand it once the 'pay' buttons are there ,it's on.... i suspect poor Graham has to take a risk that places will fill , I'm sure they will - I'm not yet paid up as have to wait for events here at home to settle ....
If you need ski hire you can pay up front or sort it when you get there - I'm not sure of the usual cost as I have my own gear but £50 sounds good - will cost me almost that much to being mine on the plane !

camm10, there are three buttons, 1 for the accomodation, 1 for the lift pass and 1 for the ski hire. For the lift pass and ski hire you have the option of saying no thanks, but as admin has got a deal (and you go next weekend) then you might as well click the button to buy them and pay admin up front. It's definitely on.
edit: I see from the list you have said that you want ski hire, so you should now pay the £50 to admin

hi guys, i'm just about to pay now! i hope you don't mind a noob coming along? I'm also wondering about my ability to keep up with the group as I would class myself of "low intermediate" ability i.e comfortable parallel on blues and most reds, and I'm wanting to learn how to carve. i don't want to hold anybody up! I'll be flying from bristol so if anybody else is going from there on the stupid am flight give us a wave!

admin, Hello there, most tempted by the Alpe d'Huez trip, couple of questions if I may -
Fom the sound of the posts will it be exclusive use of the hotel (ie no school trips?)?
As a solo I also wonder what the room situation will be?
How much is ski and boot hire?
Do you anticipate any apres ski?
Lastly do you by any chance know the age range of the group as I am a 20s ski larry!

polkadot, PANIC NOT - All sensible questions... Some admin will need to confirm , i know the hotel is used for school trips but i would suspect none in that week date wise...and we've been offered whole hotel if we want...

As I understand it room wise we will share with same sex but unlikely to get a room to yourself unless works out by numbers.
Mixed ages seems likely and mixed abilities is a cert,I'm 36 and planning to go once I know something here at home is sorted (put it this way I've started dragging stuff out of the loft and cupboards to pack...). Everyone will have skiing in common if nothing else.
Apres ski- I'm sure again it will be a mix...... I'm unable to cope with drinking til silly o'clock and skiing , so just a few drinkies apres ski and with dinner for me (famous last words.....) but I'm sure there will be others wanting to go out after dinner too etc.... I've not been to the resort before so don't know what the bars etc are like... I'm sure we'll all ski together a bit and socialise together a lot !

Hi Everyone! I'd love to come with you all - I'm just waiting for my boss to say whether or not I can have next week off work (bribes have been offered)...I've never been on a solo holiday before, it's a bit daunting but you all sound nice!
I'm assuming there are still places left? I don't mind sharing a room (although I can't promise I won't fart in bed/have other bad habits)...
