kitenski, it makes life so much easier. There are also discount codes floating about all over the internet so it is usually cheaper than going to an actual shop

boabski, have you tried phoning a couple of the big branches? If they have them in the shop they will post out, worth a try.

sarah, thanks, but apparently they have done that for me. Reason for the Schofell ones, is that my wife has short(ish) legs, and the Savona trousers are shorter than normal. Anyone know if SOS or Spyder are shorter than normal?

I've got some bargain vouchers for Tamworth snowdome which is very useful since my friend is having lessons there at the moment. With these vouchers the lessons are £20 for two hours or £27 for three hours and a recreational ski pass is £17 for three hours. Not bad for a summer fix! |
I've got some of those. Not the recreational, but some of the other, lessons, sledding, spa etc etc. PM me for details.
queen b Happy birthday, by the way.

I must say though I couldn't ever imagine paying anything like full price for it, the wife would kill me!

Annoyingly it turned out my Norrona was out of stock too, although a nice heavily discounted Goretex Burton AK jacket ahs mollified me somewhat...

Does anyone know the relative sizes of the men's Sidewinder AR Arc'teryx jackets? I'm 5.11 with 40/42 chest. Very tempted by the price at EB (100 instead of 400), but they only have large and some reviews on-line say the fitting is VERY baggy, with someone much bigger than me saying they have the medium. Almost tempted to take a punt given the margin of the bargain, but don't want to end up with a tent. |
i have a sidewinder SV and i wouldnt say it is baggy at all ... mine is an XL and i am 6 4 and 100kg 44 chest with long arms and the fit is just right for me. i would go for it...

skimottaret, too late, alas. Did, however, pick up some very natty addidas yodai gegs for half price.
And so it begins...
Edit: gegs from S&R, not EB

Is there anyone who got exactly what they wanted in the EB sale?

Just cancelled my order from EB, as I just got an excellent deal on a (brigth yellow) TNF summit series goretex pro shell jacket (in a size which actually fits me) from the TNF shop in the Bullring, happy days! I know some people don't like TNF anymore, but for the last few years I've used one of their HyVent jackets as my bad weather jacket, and found it bomber, and this new one has some excellent features, so I'm pretty happy!

looks like betterinblack, beat you . Not overly impressed so far with EB (and in past too) with their online service. Saying that, I have ordered a Spyder soft shell for my Mrs so I'm just waiting for the email in a couple of days to tell me it's out of stock

betterinblack, if you find you don't like the jacket and it's a large, I'll happily take it off your hands for what you paid for it

Sorry it's XL and fits beautifully despite having the typical snowhead Orangatan arms. Although it's not quite as attractive as the EB picture and I have some doubts about the underarm zips allowing rain/snow in. But overall pretty pleased with it.

Yes indeed. A few weeks ago I called in at the Chill Factore as I'd never been before and was passing with a few mins to spare. I tried on a TNF Stavros jacket in the Slush n' Rubble sale and really liked it. The sale price was £264 IIRC and I couldn't bring myself to part with it. However, when I got home I began regretting my decision and looked on their website to buy online but it wasn't on there.
I got over it until I saw this thread and had a look on the EB sale site more in hope than anticipation. Low and behold, the same jacket for £135!! When I ordered it the warning of very low or out of stock came up so I didn't let myself get too excited as I've had negative experiences before but it arrived yesterday!
So, great thread boabski, just counting down the days 'till 9th Jan when I can wear it in anger!!
