Snow Reports

Help!!
Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better!
Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

, Yes Val Yad Moss does have a certain ring to it. Knowing local planners I would suggest that this is not likely

Jonpim
,
You are right I got all those items in Newcastle but Val Yad Moss will take some time to be saturated with apres activities. At the moment it is still "pack your own lunch or tighten the belt". Should take a few seasons before rowdy Scaninavians arrive. They normally stop at Metro Centre for shopping.
A big thank you to Peter S for telling us this secret spot. I have heard of skiing in the Allendale and the like but I thought they belong to the last ice age.
Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

, glad you enjoyed Yad Moss. Sadly (or not) I had to pack for next weeks Whistler trip (Jonpim, it sounds like more snow at YM than BC) . Maybe next year.

Tricky,
Yes the Club definately welcomes new members and particularly practical types. If you are into large scale Meccanno and big DIY then there is a lot of fun to be had during the summer. Contact the Club via the website or E Mail me for details.
A slight word of caution though. Running an outdoor ski facility in England is more of an enthusiasm than a guarantee of decent skiing. The snow we have had over the last 3 weeks is about the largest fall since 1996, though we did have many more weekends of skiing that particular year.
Normally conditions are highly variable and usually non existent. Nevertheless when it does all come together it is great fun and how else do you get to run your own mini 'ski resort'.
Val Yad Moss......I like that.
How about 'Le Trois Gulleys' ?
or 'Sheeponix' ?
We could even link into the neighbouring ski area of Harwood Common to create 'La Porte d'brume' or 'The Peaty way'
Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.
