Poster: A snowHead

andy,
We only do morning flights so that clients arrive in resort mid afternoon. People perfrer this as it allows them to chill, go and get their ski hire, look around the shops, etc and sort themself (and kids maybe) out for the blast on the piste the next day.
And as I said Fri -> Fri holidays are not much cheaper when you look at it from our point of view, with wet hires and slots.

That would be a big turn off for me, since I don't live close to an airport, and I don't have to hire any kit. I much prefer to be able to catch a plane late morning or early afternoon. However, I do accept you know your own market.

Bunk off work at 4pm on a Friday |
Then drive home, pick up OH/kids/skis etc, drive to airport, park, bus to check-in (2 hours before flight), fly, transfer, eat, unpack. Probably just in time for first lift! Yawn, not me, though, I would be in bed!

In theory I think Monday - Monday ski holidays should work as they do for summer holidays where TOs fly on various days of the week. Your clients will also benefit from much quieter slopes on the traditional changeover day.
Couple of thoughts ...
The week before half term you would be empty from the Monday to the Sunday unless you did a 6 night holiday so you could fill the beds and also use the aircraft both ways. On the following week you would have empty legs though as you would have the aircraft going both Sunday and Monday. To overcome this you could offer an 8 night holiday.
Be careful if you are guaranteeing a whole large hotel as if the venture isn't as successful as you would hope you would be left with a very big bill indeed. Plus, low season you could have quite a few rooms empty which would be costly too.
Good luck!

snowsteve,
Thanks for that.
Contrary to may you may think if reading another thread, we are "very" cautious when it comes to hotel contracts, flight bookings, etc. But I really do appreciate your insight. Many thanks

No probs! In my experience the main TOs are erring away from guarantees at the moment due to the risk involved. You could also offer accom only, setting aside a certain number of rooms that can be booked for any start day and any duration so that you cover your bases.
