thefatcontroller, thanks. It's not small is it?! |
The JCB's do give a perspective of size don't they, it looks enormous, which is great as it means plenty of water for cannons (though hopefully cannosn aren't needed).

But I can't see it on the Google.maps satellite view. Were is it in relation to the 3 chair lift top stations?

I believe it's between plan and edelweiss blues to the right of 1950 looking at the map, but I'm perfectly happy to be corrected.
Not one for an off piste moment however

Martin Nicholas, Don't forget that google earth maps are a few years behind quite often.
bertie bassett, Easiest way to visual it I think is that as you ski down from Transarc towards 1950 and 2000 it will be on your left and down the 1950 end? Thats no clearer is it

snowcrazy, I'm out this weekend (skiing in Tignes), then at Christmas. Will let you know so we can meet up.
To upload photos use the snowMedia Zone to load your stuff onto the internet, then use 'linked thumbnail' or command to insert photos into your posts.

snowcrazy, I hope I'm going to be out from around the 9th Dec or so - I'm driving so a fairly unfixed date. Need to head to ValDespair on the 12th for a mates stag weekend (indeed), but am very very keen to ski 'opening day' in Les Arcs, so will be back to ski on the 13th.
In terms of the photos, you need to make sure your linking to the image file (ending .jpg) and not the web address, suggest preview first as well as that'll soon show whether you've got it right or not. Feel free to PM if any questions.

Great pic but problem with that site is the pics are not always recent, check the date and time of pics. They still have Arpette pics up from last season.

In Les Arcs for a few days (to ski Espace Killy which opens tomorrow). It's looking very good for this time of year, with snow down to the valley floor and beyond. Looks to be at least 30-40cm at resort level, forming a firm base on piste.
More photos on my snow report blog.

Nice picture Rob! We drive out on Sat 13th. I'm out there most of the season this year.... (how exciting is that!.... ) and Steve will be coming and going.
Would love to meet up with old friends and make some new ones. Dont fancy skiing on my own so hoping I will find a few people to ski with.

From the SMA Marketing and Communications Dept: (for you monolinguists, you'll need to get your best translation software going...)
L'Open Day Paradiski :

Wildlife report rather than a snow report today. Just been watching an alpine hare snuffling around below my balcony looking for food. Not seen one this high before at this time of year. Do they eat sausages? I would have been happy to share some of mine that I had for supper tonight
