Poster: A snowHead
|
I've only day-visited to the Val T slopes in the past. I must say I thought then that 'attractive Val Thorens' was an oxymoron (though the skiing was great). Am looking forward to being converted.

Obviously A snowHead isn't a real person

achilles, much as I enjoy VT, even I wouldn't call the resort attractive - it's just more attractive than Les Menuires

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Great pics Hoppo, but the pedant in me notes this photo is incorrectly titled. That is Les Menuires down there, not Val Thorens.
I don't think you can actully see Val Thorens from the top of La Masse.
(And I'm not sure what this is a pic of, but I'm pretty sure its not Les Menuires)

Jonpim, I think you can see La Masse from Val Thorens - it's the one with a big pylon on the top... have a look at the panorama at the end - Val Thorens is to the right, Les Menuires is sort of hidden in the middle, but I think you can see a bit of it peaking out.
I did collect GPS traces and I'm thinking of doing something cunning to match GPS to photo using the time code of photo and GPS...

The path came into play twice for us, once to get to the off piste off Masse1/2 from Val Thorens, the second time on the way out of the off piste after avoiding the frozen lake some poor sods were walking across
Cheers,
Greg
