Then around lunchtime the snow ceased, the clouds drifted away and the sun came out to give us perfect piste skiing: a hard base with a light covering of new snow.

This week has shown clearly that Frostie’s “black and white” question Sunshine or Snowfall is impossible to answer. Persistent sunshine makes for ghastly conditions: either slush (if warm) or hard and icy (if cold). Persistent heavy snow is also not pleasant to ski in. You need a mixture. Usually you get a day (or days) with either one or the other. But sometimes you get a magical day, like today, which manages snow and sunshine. Perfick!

But also a sad day. I go home tomorrow. All the best for anyone coming out for Easter week. I hope you have as good a week as I have.
