Snow Reports
FAQ
Help!!
Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better!
Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Thanks

, missed that line. I might get away with it as I think my other bag is less than 20kg. Will have to get the bathroom scales out. As usual with the 'budget' airlines by the time I've paid the taxes, baggage charges and so on it more than doubles the headline fare.

I have now phoned and got a definitive answer.
Yes, you were right, the payment of £15 each way only gets you 12kg extra hold weight. You cannot have separate boot and ski bags. ie you need a double ski bag big enough for skis and boots, or to put boots in a backpack so they fit the hand-luggage size limit.

, yes, if your skis are light and you pack a bit less than 20kg in the main bag you might manage two sets. However my skis are heavy (around 6kg I think) and bag plus sticks is 2kg, so I don't think I'll manage it.
Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

, we saw that on BA's web site before travelling and thought we'd be OK. What was interesting was that we were given two different, and wrong, pieces of information at Birmingham and Geneva respectively (tried to reply before, but internet wasn't working!).
We are flying FlyBE in January and have booked our ski carriage, but have again received contradictory information about the boot bag (i.e. whether you are allowed two or one pieces of checked luggage).
