FenlandSkier,
Generally PM, but if I've had a bad night (monsters under the bed, scared of dark etc) than AM

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

pam w,
My apres is varied and depends who I'm skiing with (though whoever that is, it has thus far never involved buggery).
With family and neighbours it usually consists of off-slopes, drink on decking, back to room, change/shower etc., dinner, out for a few drinks, back by 9 or 10 and then a couple of chocolate-brandies in the hotel bar.
With school trips it involves shephearding groups into the right place at the right time. Nothing until after dinner. But post-dinner it's usually the hotel bar (unless an activity like bowling is arranged) until the young'uns are in bed. But then sixth form and staff go to a local bar and get ratted. Oh yes, and there is ALWAYS at least one evening of karaoke (until we've cleared the bar).
With mates. Just drinking, change/shower, drinking, eating, more drinking, yet more drinking... (you see a pattern developing?)... Although I've yet to manage ultimate all-nighter (arrive at 6pm as the slopes close, leave at 8am as the bar closes, and walk straight to the lifts - now that's time management!).

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

The best Apres is either the Henustall in Zermatt when Elvis is over from Cervinia, or the Moosewirt in St Anton. The music has to be cheesy, and preferably German. The Final Countdown should be in there somewhere. Weissbier is the tipple of choice.

Usually comes under a couple of examples depending on whether skiing with usual large group, or smaller group (large group first):
A carafe of wine on mountain before final run
A beer or two in the room while I have a quick shower/change
Room party (my room or other) with wine and beer
Dinner with wine
A few beers in hotel or bar
Crash
A couple of beers before final run
A couple of beers in bar (hotel or other)
A beer or two in room while quick shower/change
Beers on bar crawl
Something to eat
More bar crawl
Crash
Both followed by lamentable crawl to the slopes in the morning with no breakfast.
Mid morning wine or beer
Lunchtime wine or beer with possibly something light to eat
Carry on as above

I'm obviously getting very old - quick drink afterwards; back for shower; bottle of wine; dinner; more wine; snooze on sofa; brandy; bed.
Out? What's out????

A beer at top top before the last run. Wait while the place gets quiet.
A few beers at the bottom in a crowded bar with Europop thumping out of the speakers.
A shower and freshen up
Good meal/ company with wine.
A few beers in a pub later.

A drink or two at the bottom of the last run.
Back to hotel.
Swim in pool and laze in hot tub (if staying up market enough to have said activities!)
If no pool and hot tub, then drink in hotel bar.
Up to room to shower and change into something more suitable.
Back down to Hotel bar for another drink whilst group all meet up again.
Onto restaurant for copious amounts of food and wine.
Back to hotel bar for a drink or two.
Trying to be in my bed asleep before midnight. otherwise that 8am start's a killer!

apres for me, ski back to the hotel, get a massive hot chocolate and wait for dinner, eat dinner,
then go to the most lively bar in town and dance to bad english pop music and drink too much jaegermeister.

Ski hard all day. Get to mountain top bar late afternoon have a drink until dark then ski down to town for more. Not very responsible I know, but great fun nonetheless.

You know it makes sense.

either at a bar at the bottom or one near the bottom I like to have a beer serieuse 'cos I'm thirsty, a vin chaud 'cos I'm cold, a pastis 'cos I like it but only in France and a double espresso to keep me going and repeat (without the coffee) until I have to go back to the chalet for shower and dinner with wine and port or amaretto depending and then off to bed by 11.
this assumes I am child free otherwise apres ski involve sledging, hot chocolate and a cheeky beer if I am lucky although dinner wine and port and amerreto remains a constant.
