veeeight, but when are the mechanics being constrained by the equipment, and when by the ability of the skier?

Obviously A snowHead isn't a real person

PhillipStanton, You need to be a strong and more importantly consitant skier. Then we can mess with alignment and see what improvements we can make.
There are certain instances were morphology calls for re-alignment, these will be obvious to your bootfitter and will be something you are already having addressed!

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Wear The Fox Hat, Like I said in a earlier post, I taught a lady from Knutsford last season.
We were doing some edging drills, which included some aggressive hockey stops. When she edged the ski to the maximum of her ability, the skis were underachieving the critical edge angle.
In spite of the knee being inside the line of force, and in spite of strong angulation, sho could not make the ski hold without excessive knee and hip angulation.
There were the other signs as well.
To answer your question more directly, a trained eye can recognise when to look at the equipment and when to look at the skier bio mechanics.

veeeight, I had two seperate coaches, one who pointed out the ski convergance and the other the lack of carving on the inner ski before I had my legs looked at.
SMALLZOOKEEPER, my skis' conditioning is better than mine
