We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Not solely. The employer could face some eye-watering fines for employing somebody working illegally - not quite as draconian as the UK's five-years-in-jail penalty, mind!

Whether the employer gets into trouble or not is irrelevant. The tutor has his/her own interest to look after.

After all, the employer being wealthy is a double edge sword. They can pay the fine without any eye-watering if comes to it. But what’s the impact to the tutor?

Internet is a starting point. But until a lawyer can show you a copy of the law that matches EXACTLY your particular situation, you’re not safe.

That said, somehow I don’t think this is a difficult situation to deal with at all. I’ve been in a somewhat similar situation, albeit different country. I’ve also heard other, again somewhat similar situation of mixing different type of visa. The solution were all pretty straightforward once you figure out what needs to be done. Can get pretty dire if you don’t bother to find out and don’t do the right thing though.
