Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Hey guys, not too sure where to post this...
I'm final year student at the University of Plymouth currently researching sustainability in the winter sports apparel sector, if anyone has a spare 2 minutes I'd really appreciate you filling out the questionnaire below. Haute Route blog

Tuesday

Last call done. Laptop closed. Time to leave behind the seemingly continuous blur of virtual meetings for a final ski season 20/21 mission: Verbier to Zermatt earn your turns style. The Thursday night Haute Route hardcore crew were itching to go. Hopefully the vets club would measure up! Threw the (heavy!) pack around my shoulders, groaned, and set off to Medran for the last shuttle to Ruinettes, put on so Haute Routers could avoid the melting mush on the paths! Tim and Craig were waiting with full packs and big smiles Eh oh! .

Ruinettes was a mess with the work already started for the new lift, but we were soon up at Fontanet, looking across to our target, Cabane Mont Fort perched splendidly under the towering Bec des Rosses ridge.

Good work fellas! The hut was empty apart from us, so we had the luxury of single rooms and the promise of a good first nights sleep. But first, a 4 course feast washed down with a couple of bottles of Switzerland’s finest rouge!

The weather forecast was not entirely playing ball, but spirits were high and a couple of cheeky eau de vie set us up nicely for the first night in the mountains!

@swskier, I‘ve got a recollection that someone came on here a few years back and posted about their intention to do exactly that - I wonder if it was the same guy? I can‘t find the thread unfortunately.
