Photos on phone a very good idea. But some people on the snowy Birthday Bash who got stuck in Alleghe within signal couldn't access insurance documents. And people do lose phones. Belt and braces makes sense.

I don't know the technicalities but there were a lot of people who hadn't taken hard copies and couldn't access their documents. I recall, in my elderly naivety, being surprised that people wouldn't take their documents with them on a ski holiday. The extraordinary snowfall and closure of mountain passes had been well forecast.

So many hotels ask for my passport and take photos, requests I have no option to decline.
I'm not that concerned about that increase of "attack surface"... not because I'm not concern. But because I feel it's pointless given all the other "attack surface" that I have no control of.
