Sometimes your virus scanner / checker also keeps a log of the websites you have been looking at, regardless of whether you're deleting history etc, so that might be worth a go as a last option.

You need to tell us which shop it's for so that folk can then tell you that there's a better/closer/cheaper alternative

Lesson learned: keep important ski holiday documents saved or get a print out.
Will save on stress.
Then again, I forgot to take my electric plug EU converter to La Tania with me last year and only realized just as the Eurostar train arrived in Moutiers!

I always save a copy of my documents to Dropbox which means in an emergency I can download and print them off anywhere.

@NIKKIWHITE, so glad to read you have found it. Never again will I think I am a nerd for creating an email folder for each trip into which I put all emails - I have been laughed at for doing this in fact, but I can only imagine the annoyance you must have felt, and who needs all that stress. Have a great trip - looks like you will have lots of lovely fresh snow.

@nem, always been the case. Deleted data is always still present on your hard drive until it has been overwritten. And to make it truly irretrievable it must be overwritten quite a lot of times. Not sure if that's the case with SSD though.

@NIKKIWHITE, I have two email accounts, and make sure I have a copy of every email on both accounts in separate folders, but will be printing off confirmation emails for hotels/ski hire/crossings etc a few days before we go in feb, seems like you are going to have fantastic conditions, bonne ski!!

@NIKKIWHITE we always book with Contat Sports when we go to Les Gets. all the staff there are lovely and so helpful and patient. Even when my girls go through 5 different pairs of ski boots before they can find one that fits!

If that worries you then I suggest you don't do too much digging into what else can be found on a computer. It's one of the reasons that police seize the computers of suspected nasty people, an awful lot of unpleasant data is retained even if they've tried to delete it. THe lesson is, don't do naughty things.

I always forward mine to a relative, partly so they know where/when I am but also so they've got a record of it. For instance before every trip I email both my parents a copy of my travel insurance and tickets, the thinking being that I may end up needing it but not have it to hand. I also keep a copy in the pocket my salopettes so that I've got the right numbers to phone if I have an accident. Whether I'd be in a condition to phone them is a different matter!

@NIKKIWHITE, which chrome extension out of interest. I wouldn't worry about deleting history, if you REALLY want to do that then browse in privacy mode (right click chrome new private window) or similar. When you close that all info from that session is lost.
