I'd rather have the occasional 'spam' from like minded well meaning people like SZK that is at least relevant to the forum I'm reading than endless regurgitation of news articles I've already read eleswhere on the net.
But hey that's just me.

SMALLZOOKEEPER,
shame. I'm sitting in the vagabond on their wireless at the moment. Off to Verbier tomorrow. Nico at snell sorted my boot problem, and Alpine Land sold me some new Maden AK's. Back out in April though, my mate's apartment is near footworks.

Put your money where your mouth is - for every snowHead that buys something off you, you make a donation to the forum.
For skis, I'm thinking maybe €1 for every mm of waist width.

Wear The Fox Hat, Are we talking ski waist width. If not then I'll buy and we can all retire

What have I missed? I take a paltry 2 weeks out to do some, admittedly gentle, skiing and come back to what seems to be a full on argument!
Don't worry, SZK doesn't really exist. I know - I've tried to seek him out in Footworks a few times. There's only this bloke called Steve who just looks worried when I ask for the "mec qui garde les petites animaux".
David Goldsmith, why an inflatable banana? Why not an inflatable can of spam?

I've found the odd post by SZK to have tweaked my tits a bit, more due to his famously diplomatic style than content, but I don't think he's here for commercial reasons. I think he knows his stuff and struts it and wants us to too, for our own good. He's definitely taught me a thing or 3 (I'd like to add, as has WTFH) and we're bloody lucky to have the likes of SZK and CEM here. Plug away.

My conclusion to this saga is that SZK is being given an undeserverd hard time. I would think differently if he was the owner of the shops. But in these threads he is trying to help us and his employer and to keep good balance between the two can be difficult. Good luck! WTFH and SZK may have their differences but I think its time to stop the negativity. Peace, love, bells, beads!

SMALLZOOKEEPER, re TNTs, no worries, thank you for trying anyway. I'm not entirely sure I can recall where I bought them. It was some time ago! Will be in Chamonix again in the next few weeks and will make appointment prior rather than just wandering in.
Oh, and another thing, having had a total ball under, beside and around the loverly new Index chair last week, I can maybe, just maybe see why you sell so many skis-that-are-wider-than-le bon dieu-intended.
Once my quiver contains new 9Xs, FIS race SL and GS skis, and a pair of telemarks, would you mind me eating a thin slice of potentially humble pie and sell me some fatties? 9XOs are just dandy for big freeride swooping turns through deep cut up powder, but I think I'd go faster with a little more girth. Pics posted as soon as I can work that out.
Piccie...here

Don't have much time for any bitching on this site and the HUGE amount of info and the generally codial presentation
is worth a few noses out pf joint IMV if that is the risk..!! And it is very easy to get the right point across but the wrong, or misinterpeted delivery.
Small price to pay for all the good stuff going on here.

I think it is good for Snowheads to have people in resort - and especially people in the business side of things - posting. People know that SZK works for a bootfitter/ski supplier so they can put whatever interpretation they like on his posts. For me bootfitting is a black art mixed with snake oil, it would be nice to hear more from the coal face.

I was wondering if anyone else had noticed that. The fact remains, they're a pain if you don't want to see them, if you login after a day or so you've got to wade through them, like returning from holiday and not being able to open your front door for all the junk mail
It's obviously not just you or I either, if admin thought it was real news he give permission to post in the news section, if the mod's thought so they'd move at least some of them.
Here's a useful starter kit though for any other budding reporters out there.

Sorry folks but I still disagree. The news stuff adds to the atmoshphere. Posrts that get on my nerves are ones that could be answered by a simple search. Having said that, most such post are from new (ish) posters who may not know how the forum works.

I don't trawl the net looking for ski stuff (or anything else, for that matter), so I wouldn't come across the news stuff unless it was posted by someone, so I'm with Frosty the Snowman on this.

The non-snow related ones are in the Après Zone after all - current affairs is something you might talk about in the bar, so why not? You could also play parlour games in the chalet or wherever, so I've no problem with those type of threads either. You do tend to get to "know" people better with the threads in the Après Zone.

So am I, I just would prefer they were somewhere else that you could read and would be easier for the rest of us to ignore.
I can't be alone in seeing the irony of him whining about the informative and orginal posts from smallzookeeper and pretending to be unaware of the number of people who don't want to read pseudo-news articles.

I'd just add to the chorus saying:
a) I find SZKs posts interesting and helpful. Even his wind ups tend to stay on the playful side of the line!
b) I don't think it's fair to accuse him of spamming here. It seems pretty obvious that his main motivation is to be helpful and share his views. Like most of us here
