I've got Soul 7s as my one ski quiver (with Marker Tours). They are good at most things, not excellent at anything really and fall down at speed. I do really like them though as a jack of all trades. My last trip on them was 4 days touring/skiing of piste around Sainte Foy and Les Arcs and they were a dream.
So, what are you after? The Souls are very playful in powder but a bit soft at speed and no good at crud buusting so if you're after a dedicated "off piste" ski to deal with all types of snow of piste, not just powder, I'd get something a little straighter, wider at the waist and stiffer.
If you want something that'll go anywhere, they're ace. Easy to ski in general, waisted enough to enjoy carving a newly groomed piste, pop-y and light for bouncing around in the soft and deep and they've got me down so great descents this last winter, my legs were the limiting factor! (I'm now a desk bound offic emonkey, the thighs aren't what they used to be).

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Still - Queen is the best band ever

Even if you restrict yourself narrowly to 70s era rock bands they wallow miles behind in the wake of Led Zeppelin. Fact.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

Ispent a season in Morzine. And for the combination of relatively easy, often quite crowded piste skiing, decent mogul runs and good powder runs, I kept coming back to my Whitedot Preachers. Everything else was a bit too specialist for that ski area, I thought.

Although honourable mention to the DPS Wailer 112 as well. But the weight of the Preachers lent themselves better to the often tracked out, well-skiied nature of that area, IMHO.

@jedster, Yep, apart from Queen 2 tour when they almost resembled a proper rock band. Brian May couldn't hold a candle to the likes of Page, Blackmore, Schenker, Hagar, Gallagher, Gilmour and Walsh. His screechy riffs used to drive me mad, pretty good at Live Aid 1 but that was more about Freddie Mercury than the rest of the band IMO, he was special and was wasted on Queen, he should have been in a proper rock band, like say Paul Rodgers, Robert Plant or Glenn Hughes.

@Harry Flashman, They are a lovely ski. I demo'd those at the EOSB, they have lovely hold whne cranked over but I did actually find my 120mm Bents more nimble. perhaps because I am used to using them in a variety of conditions. Not much in it really though.

@Scarpa, I love my Preachers too great fun for most off piste and also pistes, but I've ordered a pair of Whitedot Ones (89 under foot) for icy conditions and touring - looking forward to comparing them next season

@On the rocks, I have a pair of (knackered) Ones for park and messing about and heading to the fridge - great things! But these days, I use the Preachers for mixed days and off-piste, and some race skis for the really bulletproof piste days. After years of owning a big quiver, now just 2 pairs...

I don't tour much as no longer get lots of endless time in the mountains, but when I did, the DPS Wailer is your friend...
