VoodooBob, quick update from Obergurgl. Fab weather. Snow holding up well. A little hard in the morning, perfect 12-3,and then a bit slushy lower down. But really not bad at all. Only the last 100m to the village was badly cut up and even that was ok. Temperature a little cooler today, but still t shirts outside the restaurants even at 3000m.
No idea about Solden. Drove through on Sunday and the runs into the village we saw looked a bit sad. A white ribbon surrounded by brown. Much better higher up I believe.

Have a great time - we did. Lovely trip home, stopped a night in Heidelberg, lovely (was made to climb the 350+ steps to the castle, kill or cure....)

Just back from Obergurgl after a fab week. For anyone interested.....
Despite high temperatures the snow seems to be holding up well. The last 500 vertical metres were getting pretty slushy in the afternoon and the last 100m of vertical into parts of the resort were getting pretty cut up, scraped clean and brown. But, that's nothing to worry about for the moment. Plenty of snow up top which should last for several weeks yet. Temperatures seem to have cooled a little with a dusting of snow forecast for Tuesday. That will be the first snow since about 23 March. We had a great week there. Often hard in the morning, then great in the middle of the day, and then sometimes preferable to take the bubble back down by 3pm.
I gather Solden still has reasonable snow, up top, but in town it looks v miserable. There is a slither of brown snow coming down into the resort, but it's surrounded by acres of brown earth. V depressing.

We watched from the rear terrace of the Hohe Mut, not sure of the name of the mountain but it was on the opposite side of the valley to Obergurgl runs.

Just back from a 4 day trip covering Solden, Obergurgl and Hochgurgl. We had a fantastic time on the slopes. Yes it's warm and a bit slushy low down in the afternoon, but the majority of the slopes are in great condition and quiet. Solden may not look great from resort level but get up top and it's wicked.

Obergurgl is in good condition, too, despite the warm weather. Icy corduroy this morning, but nice snow from late morning for 3-4 hours, before getting rather slushy (but not too bad) in the afternoon. Patches of bare ground are appearing here and there, and a couple of slopes are now closed, but all in all it's not doing badly.
