snowed all day yesterday but didn't really seem to do anything, quad was parked all day at chantemerle and only had less than a cm on it.
looks to be about another 5cm fallen last night. Was so quiet in resort yesterday. lets see if we get some tourists in today!

Thanks for posting the pics up guys - keep 'em coming. We're out there 23rd Jan for the week. Starting to get very, very excited now! Had good snow a couple of years ago when we were there, but the pics look like its something else at the moment!

it is absolutely dead in resort at the moment. There was no one on piste today.
and ithe mountain with sun and snow on it today. totally awesome!

I've been struggling to sort snow chains for the jeep the set I bought a few years ago don't fit this one as the alloy size has changed :doh: still I'm having a set couriered to me tonight, fingers crossed they can get them to me

hi Helen Beaumont, just wondering what conditions are like today and if you have one of the fabled 'local' weather forecast sites for me to obsess over for the next five days. i'm starting to see wigglies in my sleep. i think the w/c 17th ought to be ok though....... any view?

Helen I've ordered a set now, my fear was because I've got a large 4x4 with big wheels/tires I may have struggled (as it was I struggled over here but have some now)

you'll all be pleased to know that the trucks are arriving with salt tomorrow! HOOOORAY, the uk is not the only place that had run out of salt!
most of our businesses here have lacking or no stock and st chaffrey has had no salt for over a week due to all the snow down south causing havok with the roads.
they have been doing lots of road clearing since the last snow fall and from tomorrow there will be salt!

Wow first visit to SC today. Great snow and terrain. Amazing amount of clean powder lines still to be grabbed 5 days after the last storm (albeit via a short hike)!
Should be even better after tomorrow's forecast snow!
Will definitely be back for a longer stint in the future.

Sandy77uk, certainly my man! oh be warned, do not race up my drive to park, not only is there a massive chute de neige but due to the kicker parking is difficult this year, so take it easy when you arrive!

snowangel - looking at http://www.inforoute05.fr/cg05en.html it says they've just closed the section between Les Freaux and Le Grave for the rest of the winter, is this just a typo on the site and they've closed it tonight because of expected heavy snow?? or wtf lol - I take it kates jeep isn't there is there space where i normally park? or so much snow its anyones game?

Sandy77uk, that looks like a bad bit of mapping. There is a minor road there I think, which will close (D223T), not the main route.

Sandy77uk, did the col last night to les 2 apes (oh by the way we have more snow than them in the valley) not very pleasant lots of snow on the road and lots of wind.
snowed oh a grand total of 1 cm last night (what a let down!) and is white and cold up there today.
I've been moving our kicker! It is finally ready to be tested. It has taken this long as it took 1 month to get my 4x4 mended which was blocking it from leaving the house!
still we're on our way with it now!
