Colin B, I will be present in Tignes on 10th! I'm on a course that week mind you so it might be tricky but we could try and meet up if possible with some other Snowheads bods. I'm there 29th Nov-20th Dec.

There was a late flight from Luton last year (though I'm not sure it was quite that late  ) but it nobody who went on the same day as us caught it as the arrival time at Tignes would have been a bit of a killer. We caught an earlier flight. I think we arrived about 17.00 - 17.30? The others on the minibus came on a flight from Liverpool and arrived about the same time. The minibus left soon after 19.30, the driver dropping off the his passengers, having a quick coffee and returning to Geneva. I hope this is how it works out this time. I don't want to catch the earlier flight and hang around forever waiting for people catching the late one. This year though, there will be 2 minibuses. So I guess it means checking with Joanne before booking to make sure there are spaces on the early one. |
Doh, I meant the flight back to luton! I got hte flight to geneva which arrived really early and had about 4 hrs to wait.

maggi, my flight back to Luton on the Friday for the October ski and board camp leaves Geneva at 21.55 so if they keep the timetable the same for December as well then it might be a smidgen later than 9.20pm. Don't know whether they have different departure times for flying back on the weekends though.

VolklAttivaS5, it might have been 21.55! I can't remember the details  . I just know Luton was the nearest airport with a flight late enough to fit in with the transfer back.

Looks like the Liverpool flights are bookable now. Who else is flying from Liverpool and which flight are you planning to get? Seems like a good idea to meet up at the airport and travel in a group?

Yes will be skiing on 11th. Think transfer leaves about 4pm, but it must get dark fairly early so hopefully won't miss too much of the day.

Not me, looking to fly from London on the 10th, but that means Luton in all probability as the transfers pickup from GVA at 1930-ish and drop-off at 1930-ish on the sunday.

lampbus, We also wanted NCL but not available in early Dec so settled for Liverpool - much longer journey but worth it when you get there!
The other problem with Liverpool is the flight time. We arrive in Genava at 9:50am - way too early for the transfer and too long to wait with kids. I've just checked out the link on the car hire thread to Holiday Autos (15% discount) and it will work out at £25 per person. Absoloute bargain I reckon. Worth doing even if you have a later arrival as the convenience of having the car during the trip (rather than waiting around for the minibus) makes it worth every penny.

JT, folk started dropping out a bit and changing days so I haven't kept a record once folk started booking with mountainsun. me and eeyore are outward on the thursday, skiing frim=, sat & sunm then bus back the GVA mid-late afternoon on sun.

JT, It might be worth you checking out the Easyjet Gatwick flights too, I know they are more convenient for you. Times look similar to Luton.

EJ Luton to GVA are out. Sunday 14th Dec does not have the late evening flight (which folk wanted for the mountainsun deal) so folk may need to stay over on the sunday night at fly back on Monday.
Thursday 11th - Mon 15th Dec with 1 hold bag & 1 pair of skis = £88.98.

holidayloverxx, Have similar problem to you.....last flight on Thu 11th from GVA to LGW is 1850 (and BA is 40 mins earlier) so will either need to stay over in GVA or stay another night in Tignes Just waiting to hear back from Joanne.
