Hi all, in saltzburgerland - rode Flachau today after a good dump of snow - powder top to bottom - conditions great!

We're flying Air Berlin so not there till late on the Saturday (land 6.20pm so arrive 10pm ish) but looking forward to checking out "a little bit of Irish"! fingers crossed for sub zero temps and lots if the White stuff over the next 10 days!

trundlebunny, yep, 9 of us, staying at the Hotel Zum Hirschen, flying from Gatwick to Salzburg at 2.40pm, arriving 5.35pm. 3 women (including me) and 6 blokes.
Definitely will be checking out Crazy Daisy's and the Irish bar - and I like the look of that shots place as well!
We'll all have to wear flowers in our hair or something, the guys probably won't need much persuading...

Zauchensee today - epic! Powder knee deep in the trees - must have been 30cm plus up top over last couple of days! Fab conditions and really quiet slopes!

Fresh dusting in Paznaun yesterday and today. Ischgl snow pretty decent. In Kappl this week and fine top half but not great lower down. Needs a good 20cm or so. But still having a great time

I still haven't got out on mine yet this season.. but I have my new skis now (K2 Rictors) and they have enabled me to say.....
Reiteralm - pistes all in fantastic shape, a little icey and scraped when coming into the valley. Upper slopes have about 25 - 30cm of fresh. The powder off piste is nice and fluffy but the iced ruts of the base can make the odd interesting esperience! Good cover through the trees down to about 1200.

Picadily, Snow-forecast is incredibly pessimistic. It was only saying a couple of cm of snow for the last two days, yet various reports are saying there was 14/15 cm on both days. I have my fingers crossed.

read elsewhere that snow-forecast use GFS operational ( the thick green line) on the GFS ensembles so scope for more snow than it says ( fingers crossed )!!

flangesax, lol yeah bit of a giveaway - but it's been great last 3 days in this pow - great for tight turns in trees and nose stays up nicely without weighting back. Agree about the fluffy pow - and yep the crusty base caught my tired legs out a few times!
Snowing last night and today at zauchensee - just a few cms but added to the last few days means the while area looks in good shape - valley to peak.
Local forecasts suggest more snow early next week an then sun fir the end of the week - so those coming out next week should have great conditions - enjoy!
