The French Ski School (ESF) will be taking Le Ski to court demanding £9,700 in damages. Both parties will present their cases before a judge on January 7th
There's a related 14-page snowHeads thread on this - ESF take UK tour ops to court over alleged illegal ski guiding ...
British man: all British skiers will desert France completely and ski in Austria/Switzerland/Italy if France bans British chalet ski hosting blah blah blah
French man: you would not buy a cheese in France that has not got an official stamp of approval and knowing it had been made properly, so why would you pay for chalet services that include an unqualified ski guide blah blah blah.
Rubbish feature.
But would you buy cheese that did not have a CRB certificate?
Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

bar shaker,
When I heard the article I thought that was a very strange comment. Shirley the reason people like French cheese is exactly because it is produced by small independent producers without any intervention by the bureaucrats
bar shaker, If the ESF are having to argue their case by reference to cheese production I think that just demonstrates that they've got a weak casein fact....

Nine months since the last update, and the big news is that le flashmob is back ... PlanetSki reports ...
The French ski school has been in London to try to improve relations with the British tour operators and rebuild relations with British skiers and snowboarders. The image of the ESF is at an all time low.
How can it be raised - a vast ESF hot air balloon rising above a famous London landmark? A famous British celebrity dressing as an ESF ski instructor? Your suggestions for restoring the entente cordiale are invited.
Un flashbaque
22 November 2012, Parliament Square. Flashflop
It never happened. Thousands of snowHeads were forced to make other arrangements.

What the ESF couldn't achieve - the "World's Biggest Flashmob" - the ESC* managed without difficulty, using the World's Worst Music

Yes
And if you read the Facebook posts correctly this is BASI working with ESF Megeve (who employ a number of BASI qualified instructors) to mend relationships within the industry that were dammaged by a certain embarrasing excuse for a british person.

I have to say that that photo, in itself, doesn't exactly express any ESF-BASI fraternity.
Neither does this (non-paparazzo) one, released today by BASI itself.
In each case we see an ESF instructor, very much alone in a very large city.
Perhaps the ESF could reciprocate, with a photo of a BASI-uniformed instructor in front of the Eiffel Tower ... but again, it would be difficult to know what it symbolises!

An update ... since this thread chronicles ESF-related stuff since Nov 2012 ...
The ESF YouTubed a promotional video called 'Skiselfie London Ski Show' on 28 October - 4 days ago -
On the opening day of the Ski Show (30 Oct), two men were outside the entrance handing out anti-ESF fliers, on Earl's Court land. It's reported that they were asked to leave the site.
Although I have a copy of that leaflet I won't reproduce it here. Someone else has commented on apparent undertones of 'nationalist politics' - they're not overtly expressed on the leaflet, which doesn't have any identifiable publisher, but it has that kind of characteristic.
And love to help out and answer questions and of course, read each other's snow reports.

Plenty of those politics evidenced by a few on this thread.
