kooky, was quiet as everyone on the autobahn. My friend missed his flight from Salzburg, took 3 hours from Schladming! Heading to Haus tomorrow for first lift, plan a mini ski tour, literally 10-15mins up for a long run of untracked powder, if you're interested. Went to the WM for men's DH today, watched on the giant TV screens neat the rathaus, even had free coffee on tap! Good atmosphere until the last austrian, Klaus boy, skied into tin medal position. Excellent run by Svindal. Max pressure on Hirscher for the SL , you should come over for that next week, will be awesome atmosphere. Will also be going to team event Tues evening, will by tickets for this I think.

Had an AMAZING pow day today all on my own some, billy-no-mates, that´s me 
Skied the forest lines a friend showed me, did 11 runs, each in thigh deep totally untracked champagne powder, blue sky and a tasty minus 17......what more can a girl ask for on a Sunday morning

A lovely sunny -10 day in Zell am See today. Snow is scraped in a couple of places but generally fantastic. Bit crowded on some slopes and big queues for lifts.
|

Less than 4 weeks for me now.  Kersh Jnr will be going to ski school for the first time too so fingers and toes crossed he takes to it like a duck to water!

Kersh, I'm sure Kersh Jnr will love it. Cold this morning, -17 in town, set to warm through the day as SW air moves in. Scarpa, it's very very quiet on the slopes around Schladming at the moment, must be the world champs keeping skiers away. Discovered last night that Tina Maze is staying in hotel next to my apartment, may have to pop in for a beer.

Started snowing late morning and coming down quite steadily now. Skied at Reiteralm today, loads of race teams out all over the place. It's World Championship rest day today, so lots of practising going on, mainly on a GS looking set of gates, also the slalom qualification track is all prepared on grande finale, will be a good place to watch the racers for free tomorrow and Saturday

Newbie posting. Been following this thread for a month or so as I'm in Schladming / Reiteralm next week (woo hooo). But I am a little worried. Can you guys stop using all the snow up please.

Frosty the Snowman, not so far. Once they are partially covered they make great launch pads. The logged clearings always look way worse from chairlifts when looking uphill as the downhill side of tree stumps are not always covered up but the uphill sides probably will be. Occasionally snag the odd fallen tree or branch, a good reason to ski without ski pole straps on. Had some more snow last night that freshened things up again. I skied briefly at Zauchansee, was quite busy on lifts, I headed off for a ski tour, trying to meet up with friends that had already headed uphill. I quit when I came across a steep south facing slope that I needed to traverse, with the warm sunshine and snow plopping out of trees all around me I decided to play it safe and head home and find the powder another day, well tomorrow in fact.
