Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

scotia,

they not fat enough for you? Cool

at the moment I've only got a pair of bandits which I want to keep forever and a pair of afterbangs which havn't been drilled yet, so I've had to use the hellbents, totally worth it though, on higher elevations the pow was really good stuff. Didn't manage to do anything whilst skiing as the snow was so heavy you couldn't see a few feet ahead of you, tried with the helmet camera but its just white Laughing

Quite a few people skiing and jumping a kicker in Headingley, Leeds today. A foot of the white snow and there is even enough to ski on the side roads without wrecking your bases.

I had a lovely walk in the snow today. It really got me excited about the forthcoming ski season (if I was ridiculously excited already!). However, somehow or other I'm going to have to get into work tomorrow, I have no more spare annual leave left. It's all booked for my ski holidays.

Another inch or so overnight and it's snowing now. College is closed so no work for me, but that means no pay either and I have a skiing trip to pay for. My OH has been told by his local authority employer that he is to work from home or take the time off as leave. Their computer system is booogering about.... tough, take the time as leave then Mad Evil or Very Mad

Here in Wensleydale up at 800' ASL we have about 7 or 8 inches and some drifting taking place. At home in Richmond there is over 12 inches and goodness knows how much in the North york moors by now, possibly up to three feet.

Still haven't missed a day of work though in 8 years here. Quiet roads make a big difference and enable you to get a run at drifts and on slopes. Would hate to have to travel on motorways in this.

The good news is YM is getting whacked and when things clear out we're hopeful of some excellent skiing up there. Better still TWO have published their winter forecast and its a cold one, the third consequtive colder than average winter ina row. Hope it comes off.

2010 will surely go down as having the longest skiing season on record, SEVEN months in Scotland Shocked Shocked Shocked

Unfortunately i wasn't! It would have been ideal, walking uphill in ski boots is horrible!

I have just measured the snow depth on the wheely bin and it is at least 27 cm (11 inches). Deeper in the garden where it has drifted slightly.

I have had mine fixed although they are not 100% but i will take they to try them out. Could you take your spare ones incase they pack up as there are no hire shops? Dont want to go all the way there and then watch everyone else skiing!!! I would come and pick you up if you wanted? Could you get yourself to Huddersfield then its a little easier for me?

whats up with them? At the moment until I manage to get the Line's drilled I've only got the bandits and Hellbents, unless it's really nice deep snow I wasn't planning on using the hellbents.. couldn't imagine getting the Lines drilled before the weekend though :/ Huddersfield isn't a problem for me.

took some pictures whilst on a walk this afternoon.

looks amazing over there, well here is a link to the yad moss webcam, http://www.yadmoss.co.uk/snow-and-weather-report i would say that its at least 2 foot deep, you would not scratch your skis, plus its grass underneath there are no rocks at all, i go walking there in the summer. Huddersfield to Yad Moss is 2 hrs 30. Would be good if you could meet me at huddersfield somehow. The guy who serviced them said he isnt 100% sure if they will last, something to do with the bindings, something wont click in all the way??? Like i said, its a long way to go if they dont work!!!

Actually it's Elvaston Castle, near to where I live. For the film buffs it was where scenes in the 1960s film of D H Lawrence's Women in Love were filmed. Madeye-Smiley

Had a great afternoon on Boxhill this afternoon. Drove to Rykas car park and then walked up, managed 4 runs before being too knackered to continue. Snow should stay for a couple more days, worth a trip if you're nearby.
If I can work out how to will post some pics later.
