Very cold. Little dusting last night softened things up a little. Snow cannons working so hard they are blocking out the sun at times. Very cold. Rendl opens tomorrow.

Fantastic skiing condtions today . 17C below zero at Galzig , perfect Pistes top to bottom. Forecast is for much cooler conds by Saturday 28C below zero at Valluga.
Rendl officially opens tomorrow even though the contractors have not completed the ski bridge in town.
Completely dead in town apart from regulars & engish tour company employees grovelling around the locals.

Great skiing on Rendl today.Pistes in excellent condition and off piste untracked at least for much of morning! One of people working for lift company told me runs down to bottom were closed due to lack of snow, sort of, as Stanton said this was really due to bridge work not finished, until this is done there is quite a walk out at the end of the valley run. Restaurant smart inside and Rendl beach bar will have great views over fun park, though strange wire fence has been errected where people used to sit and watch from before. Nice day's skiing though!

Well the low temps did happen Artic Polar air all Saturday & this morning. Finally warming up a few degrees this afternoon.
Suppose to be changeover day yesterday but very few people arrived in town compared to previous years. Word is town not even full next week 26th (New Year).

Lovely snow on piste on Sunday, much sunnier although windy on top. Off piste wind affected so hard packed on some aspects, soft on the other side but

the point Stanton is making is that the Arlberg is famous (like Verbier too) for its off piste skiing ; the pistes are really quite average in comparison with other resorts, so if you are a 'piste' skier then you are not making the most of the area

Dumping this morning (nice light flakes). The temp is hovering around -1C - 0C +1C in town so we get rain as well later . Clear up on top
The Autobahns (Pistes) are packed after 10:30am & by late afternoon the Helicopters are working fulltime clearing the mess up.

Whats the conditions like on and off piste at the mo? Have you seen any local forcasts for the area - heading out on the 10th Jan and would be very interested in any local knowledge! All the usual forecast sites are pretty unreliable! (IMO)

Very wet right now. Water boots & Paraplu needed in town
As the temperature drops we should get more new snow overnight.
No one can predict 10 days off. However, Skiing is still excellent allover. A decent dump is predicted for Saturday.
The current warm fohn should change for the better in the Next few days

Cheers for that. Appreciate that 10 days is a long way off weather wise - glad to hear there's good conditions at the moment though. Roll on the lower temps! Austria seems to be doing prety well compared with France at the moment.

Started snowing mid morning/lunchtime ish, and still is.
Not been up the slopes today, but the past few days there have been some very icy slopes later on in the day as all the snow gets scraped away by all the skiers. Bring on the quieter weeks and fewer idiots on the slopes!

Well it will be cold. Possibly below -20C at points. You'll want to be wrapped up. Looks like there might be a bit of snowfall on Wednesday through Saturday. Doesn't look like a huge amount, but hard to be too detailed at that range. But yes good.
