I assumed it would open in this December for the traditional two week period, just long enough to raise hopes, before being again condemned and closed for the rest of the season.

@GlasgowCyclops, Thanks for the update, which despite the obvious scepticism, I see as positive news.

Further reading sets the alarm bells ringing.

Following conclusion of the remediation works, plus safety checks and staff training, we're aiming for the funicular to be back in service for the upcoming snowsports season which starts in December 2024. We don't have a definite date at present, but will issue an update as soon as one can be confirmed.

So reading closely it says the train will be up and running in the snowsports season, which could eb anytime after December up to April........ and that the "snowsports season" starts in December. So more carefully worded BS from them suggesting one thing and actually meaning another thing?

Hoping some will buy advance tickets (non refundable of course), which they will only be able to use for the 1 week of the season it will be open?

Yes, you're quite right there, I never picked up on the actual grammar of the statement. We are being played like the electorate with a political manifesto, lol!

And love to help out and answer questions and of course, read each other's snow reports.

Even better value for money, they've held the season passes to the same price as last year.
I wonder how many they sold last year (or the years before)? |
It's an absolute disgrace that people who bought season tickets last winter (on the premise that the funicular would be operating) were effectively conned - and got no refund. And not even a penny discount for them over and above Joe Public this winter
