had a couple days skiing now in bad gastein and conditions have been great. apparently it snowed alot a week ago so pistes are perfect and although off piste is pretty tracked out still good to go through and it was possible to find some fresh stuff. this morning we've had some light snow down at town level. will be interesting to see how heavy it is at the top.

The weather forecast is looking very snowy for my arrival this weekend. Which is nice, but I am partial to a bit of sun here and there too. Best pack me goggles...

Forecast is making it 'interesting" on Saturday -heavy snowfall everywhere, and I've got 2 changeovers to do as well!

Snow overnight yesterday (Thursday night) which led to nicely topped up pistes and enough fresh to just about cover old lines....
Very interesting and varying conditions underfoot, the snow in the fog layer seemed to be sucking up the moisture and was porridge but then you came out to semi decent pow for another 50m or so and then wet again.
Nice at the top (above 1400) though..... however today is a bit spesh!
Saturday morning and it is beltng down with huge snow flakes (normally means they are a bit wet though) and has thinned out to the tiny things that carry on for ages and end up knee deep in minutes... well lets hope

kooky, sounds pretty good, had a good session at Haus this morning. Was getting plenty of face shots in the untracked and one rather unintended body burial! Skiing along in a stream ditch as you do, turn around the corner, hmm a few deep holes in the snow, so headed out the ditch but then a ski hit something and popped off, i promptly wiped out landed in the ditch on my back, legs uphill and buried, took quite some effort to extract myself. The forecast for sun was rather wrong, been snowing most the day, keeping the WM workers busy clearing snow from the race piste

and it keeps snowing, about 20cms overnight in town and coming down very hard. That's a huge amount snow to clear for tomorrows GS.

After a disappointing day at Zauchansee yesterday where most the fresh snow had been turned to wind slab and warmed up today was surprisingly excellent. Headed to Haus and with 10-15cms of fresh snow overnight on a soft base we had an excellent session. Was very quietm the World Champs keeping people away.

So you are all having fun off piste, can anyone please provide an assessment of the state of the Pistes in the area please? I assume they are all skiing well, but it would be good to have it confirmed. We will be in France driving down to you a week on Friday.

Megamum, Can only echo flangesax (cos we is skiing with her most days) it is so bad we do not ski the same piste or resort twice! Radstadt/Altenmarkt on Sunday, Wagrain Monday, Leogang and Saalbach yesterday, Reiteralm today, Großarl tomorrow. we are still thinking about where to go at the weekend.
