Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Well Argenterre's comment to me was quite sarcastic I thought. Of course we don't have contingency plans for bloody everything but when they keep on extending it everytime there's an announcement then it would make me consider other options if like you, I was looking to fly quite soon and that's all I was saying. I probably would wait before I parted with any money though.

Anyway hope all of those travelling soon get it sorted and can fly as booked.

I'm booked with Mark Warner, in Tignes and are due to fly from Gatwick at 6.30 tomorrow. We are booked in a local Hotel tonight, but we are sat here contemplating the 200 mile drive to Gatwick, just to be sat around.

All they are saying is turn up 3 hours before the time they annouce that they will open the air space.

Met office reports don't look good and even if we do get a window, Met Office officals are saying it will be around for a week. At which point we have to get back.

Seriously considering writing off the cost of the Holiday and going to Aviemore for the week. But I guess thats what the Tour operators want you to do!

The next MetOffice forecast will be issued at about 1pm today. Then you will be able to see their forecast up to 7am (06:00 GMT) tomorrow here:
http://metoffice.com/aviation/vaac/vaacuk_vag.html

With luck, NATS will soon issue a statement saying whether or not the airspace is locked up to 7am. Then you can make other arrangements.

I'm sure I will be accused of being a pessimist but, IMHO, the outlook is bleak for a few days yet. The volcano is still chucking out stuff - see the live webcam here:
http://eldgos.mila.is/eyjafjallajokull-fra-thorolfsfelli/
http://eldgos.mila.is/eyjafjallajokull-fra-valahnjuk/

And, looking at the way the winds are moving the stuff around, what's already up there is hanging around over central Europe and the new stuff will be heading down the Atlantic - hopefully missing us but possibly not.

I am due to fly Luton to Geneva at 7.35am Monday morning, already for a short break with Mountain Sun. I have a Travelodge booked and paid for, for the Sunday night, so, unless the flights are defo cancelled, I will still head off, if given the option to change till Tuesday, I will, I would be just as happy with a 2 day ski trip, than none at all. If we don't go anywhere at all, any suggestions of what Luton has to offer before we head home again rolling eyes

I'm planning to call my friends at Snow-Express to see if they can do a coach to meet the Lardy bus at Geneva - they've officially finished for the season (their last bus returns to the UK overnight tonight) and we would have to try and arrange something (maybe with a small TO) to see if they want to take the return leg to keep costs down, but it could work. I'm going to see what the situation is on Monday and call them then.

bagged my flights out of city, jumped on a sea france ferry yesterday at 2 and got into mottaret at 1 last night. had a gorgeous ski today with mrskimottaret, a long lunch including a fine tartiflette of note and distinction, then a leasurely ski down surfing some soft snow. now catching some rays in the deck chair and looking at an empty ski and emptier mount vallon.... the pouligny montrachet is at the right temperature and life is particularily good right now... snowHead snowHead snowHead snowHead snowHead

Dwarf Vader, YSE ski have arranged coach travel tomorrow for their clients going to Val D'Isere - you could try calling them to see if they'll sell you a spare seat (if there are any). Worth a shot? I'm sure they'll drop you at a reasonable stopping place. Call 07707 034994
