It's dumping in the PNW. 10 inches of snow reported overnight at Crystal Mtn, Stevens Pass. Mt Baker received 14 inches, and possible Wed limited opening but would presume depends on FL's and additional snow. Another 10 inches to as much as 30 inches being forecast over the next 24 hours for central and N. Cascades. Snow is forecast to continue accumulating throughout the week. FL is right at about 3,500 feet. However, models are uncertain about end of week FL's. Could go up to about 5,500 feet for the weekend. Should be a good base being built, as it is sticky and wet.
Edited to add that Whistler will get brushed by the storm that is hitting Washington state. Should see a few CM's of light accumulation the next few days with possibly more toward end of week.
Central BC areas also getting snow - Big White and Fernie both reporting 26 CM of new, and still snowing.
N. Idaho at Schweitzer reproting 8 inches of new but FL going up later today and tomorrow to about 5,500 feet.

All systems go in the Cascades with multiple places opening. We're off to Whistler today

and to whet collective appetites, here's a video of our skiing last year from Thxgiving to New Year. Massive November dump, sunny for most of December and pow returned for Xmas - was fun!
Mt Baker and Stevens Pass both reporting 21 inches the past 24hrs. Crystal reporting 12 inches. Another foot is forecast to fall today. Should be really good out there. Storm will also hit Sun Valley and Jackson Hole.

We're heading to Mission for weekend. Looks like we've missed the storm - damn work - but conditions should still be darn fine (and cold).
You getting to Crystal, Todd?

Twas an awesome day at Xtal today. Knee deep plus. Laid down a few fresh set of tracks down High Campbell. And then did three laps back in to Silver Basin. Face shots all the way to the bottom. Last lap at 1PM was still fresh tracks, and didn't cross another set until I got to the run out. Was snowing all day but decent visibility, and not the insane crowds you would expect on a powder day like today. I guess everyone went to Baker and Stevens where they had 3 feet plus. 2 feet is just fine by me though!
Quite a day at Crystal by looks of it, Todd. We just had to 'suffer' 11 inches at Mission Saturday, which meant fresh lines all day as there were so few people there. The wind and cold weather kept it superb today too. Beautiful wind blown pow everywhere. It's like late January conditions up there right now.
have some Aussie friends here so probably going to head up to Schweitzer Tues/wed. Hopefully they'll have whole front side open by then, as conditions look great up there too.
Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

Enjoy Zermatt. Conditions improved dramatically today at Schweitzer with 2-3 inches of fresh. Hopefully keep going overnight ... Great Escape opens tomorrow
Based on the forecast, it looks like we will have lots to enjoy. One week to lift off. Can't stop looking at the forecast. If I didn't have so much going on this weekend, I'd be up at Crystal again. Have fun at Schweitzer, and stay safe!

Schweitzer was good this week. Not a huge dump, but some nice snow to refresh terrain. The cover is excellent already. Report/pics at:
4" this AM and still snowing, the skiing just keeps improving.
And love to help out and answer questions and of course, read each other's snow reports.

Yep, it's pretty superb everywhere right now, I suspect. Mission was fabulous this weekend. Cold blower pow on Saturday, snowed all day and 4 more overnight. Sunday was slightly warmer in morning, but cooled down by lunch and dumping an inch an hour by 1pm. Wonderful afternoon.
So if you're just off somewhere snowy come back and post a snow report of your own and we'll all love you very much

Heading to Schweitzer for weekend, and then maybe Fernie/Red depending on where snow is falling. I would've loved to be in any of those last 3 days. Damn you, work ...

Just arrived in Fernie from Schweitzer. Report/pics here - it was an incredible 4 days ...
Fernie was good, and its steeps are always fun. At Whitefish now, and snow is better. Much softer packed pow. Fernie was tending to hardpack in some places, and very tracked out
At Schweitzer now, where high pressure is building. Skiing is darn fine tho. No snow in forecast. The doldrums may have arrived ...

gortonator, I think it's going to be at least 5 days of high pressure, and cold. At least there's a decent snowpack!
