@Tris, page says 12 - form says 11 :: but, the mention of 12 years comes in the Paragraph relevant to travel from Green countries
".All travellers arriving from a green list country must complete a sworn statement certifying that they agree to take a virological or biological screening test for SARS-CoV-2 upon arrival. Children under 12 years of age are exempt from testing. You shall also present a sworn statement...."
The Green form does say 12 years exempt
Confusion abounds !!

@X5OT76,
Thanks! Yes makes sense, but for those flying in to Geneva you need a PCR so made sense to combine these rather than doing two tests.
If you’re flying to Geneva Airport you will need a Swiss version of a passenger locator form, proof of your onward travel to France and a negative PCR test taken within 48 hours of your arrival to fulfil the requirement for 48hr negative test to enter France.

Absolutely this!!
The whole thing seems like a complete lottery whether you can actually get to go skiing or not depending on who you travel with/encounter on your journey.
So much confusion/uncertainty over PCR/antigen/self-test/lab-certified/24hr/48hr/ages/which forms etc etc
Bonkers

And the France are the only country that I can see which insists that fully vaccinated travellers provides a legal sworn statement that they have not been in contact with positive case in last 14 days. This may be a moral challenge for families living in cities who may have school kids that have tested positive in the current wave but recovered before travelling.

@albob, cheers - I've not been following that too closely as I don't have any teens... mine are 9 and 11..
It was only when I went to print off the 'sworn statement' today and saw the bit saying 11 year olds must provide a negative test that I panicked...

I’m very glad we are taking the Eurotunnel to France, and staying in France! Thankfully I don’t need to navigate the Swiss requirements.

@Tris, I have been having a good read of the French Gov site -- 12 years appears everywhere ; no mention of 11 years apart from that form !!

I’ve just looked at the link you posted - I reckon it’s translated and therefore not quite accurate as the threshold is more than 11 and not 11 or more. Look around for other forms that may be more accurate.

@albob, it's a farce if you ask me. As it is a government site you would expect the level of quality of official documents to be at a certain standard/factually correct.
They literally post the info in 3 contradictory ways:
- Under 12 exempt
- 11 and over need a test
and then this which to me means 13 years and older:
Quote: |
I hereby agree on my honour to take an antigen test or biological examination on arrival in metropolitan France (traveller aged above 12 years).

@Tris, suggest you ring Eurotunnel and speak to the booking reps who are quite knowledgeable on the rules. The phone message tries to shunt your through to the online Q&A but select the new/amend a booking option where you will be able to speak with a human. Just pretend you want to book if you have other travel arrangements. They helped me last week with some grey area queries for a friend.

Cheers - I've heard Eurotunnel are on the ball... I'm not that fussed about these form mistakes on the French Gov site, more amused we are asked to sign something official which contains contradictory info.
Sadly I'm with flying with Crystal and I have more pressing issues with them as they say:
Quote: |
If your flight is to and from an airport in France you'll need to book and pay for a medical professional administered antigen (lateralflow) or PCR test, to be taken in the 48 hours before your flight departure time. |
https://www.crystalski.co.uk/resources/content/wp-content/uploads/Travel-local-COVID-19-requirements-101221-at-1700.pdf
Everybody else including French Gov say self-administered tests which are certified by a lab are fine... getting my whole family to a lab the day before we go will be tricky.
This is being discussed here:

The embassy site clarifies that only a NHS test is viewed as self-administered. There is info on c19 site that clarifies that they are not classed as self-administered and a professional certifies the result.

Flew BRS-GVA this morning. A summary:
Before dropping bags you have to present PCR Cert and Swiss PLF along with passport and boarding pass. They give you a little piece of paper signed that says “checked”.
You hand that piece of paper in at the gate. If you don’t have one they check you there before boarding.
GVA border is the most stringent I’ve ever seen it. Passport and TdS taken and checked… PCR Cert thoroughly studied to confirm dates etc., PLF was given a cursory glance. It took ages as of course most people in the queue didn’t have half the information required available.
No surprises that there were no checks on the Swiss-French border in Perly.

@rjj501 thanks for the report, please fill me in with the lingo, what is PLF and TdS?

I have some thick questions about the sworn statement I'd be grateful for help with.
When it says "residing at" is that full address?
For "initial place of origin" I assume it means place we set off from?
What does "done in" mean? Is it where it was signed?
Thanks in advance of any help.

Residing at is where you live, initial place of origin is where you're departing from to get to France, "done in" is where you signed it!

@Bella2015, I haven’t been paying a lot of attention as my eldest is 10. I believe kids take on the status of their parents but I am confused as some places say 12 while the forms are 11+. Best thing to do is to contact Eutotunnel as they have been the most helpful.

I used eurotunnel to get to france yesterday. I've used them quite a few times since the summer of 2020 and its usually fairly painless apart from the passport check queues.
You load your docs pre travel so fairly easy and I got there about 930 for an 1120 train hoping I'd get an early one
Yesterday was fairly busy at the tunnel, compared to previous trips, and lots of people, inc me, had to go into the building as the eurotunnel site hadnt acknowledged one or some of the docs needed - vacc cert, sworn statement, negative test
If you dont have everything, you gent get on the train
the issue for me was the neg test as it must be within 48 hours of travel but the eurotunnel site wants over 48 hours to allocate it to your booking. Sort of designed to fail when they are busy, such as say start of a ski season such as this
The queue was from one entrance, around the inside and through the building and to the other side. about 90m-100m ish There was a queue for dogs of about 50 people outside the terminal sorting dog passports
Despite the website being very clear as to what docs you needed, and in english, and the travel restrictions having been around for some time, people still hadnt had tests, proof of vaccine and no sworn
statement
they either had none or a mix of missing ones. You cant just book the tunnel and turn up. Its only booking 24 hours pre travel so its not a spur of the moment decision.
It was then people hitting the phones to get the statement or evidence of vac etc and then going to the back of the queue
Some people hadnt had a pre travel test which you cant get at the tunnel
they were escorted off the site with their cars and given 12 hours to get one and come back or their booking was void
when they could get one, it was go back to car check in, park, join the queue with the docs and then be allocated a train
one couple had'nt been vaccinated and had no pre travel tests but had the sworn statement and looked surprised when turned away and told they werent travelling
it was then the usual issue of 3 passport checks being open for what were full trains and 40 min waits to get through
I just managed to get onto the back of the 11.20 train having been checked and driving straight to the train

Firstly a Rant: All this govt bureaucracy is such unfun
I will be returning to the UK on 26 December and I think that i need to complete a https://www.gov.uk/provide-journey-contact-details-before-travel-uk
And i've heard that you need to have sourced the Day 2 PCR tests before you fill in the form
However, you can't complete the Passenger Locator Form more than 48 hours in advance
so.........
am I supposed to buy the Day 2 PCR tests now, before I go out to Austria
or when I am out there
:confused ?

@Earlydoors, You have missed out the test you need before you get on the plane
"..take a COVID-19 test – to be taken in the 2 days before you travel to England
book and pay for a COVID-19 PCR test – to be taken after you arrive in England
complete a passenger locator form – to be completed in the 48 hours before you arrive in England.."

I imagine the day 2 test can be booked and payed for at any time
